Veterinary Surgeon

Hi, I'm Joe! I qualified from the University of Nottingham in 2020 and have worked at Medivet Chorley since October 2021. I have a passion for surgery, and can perform both advanced soft tissue and orthopaedic procedures. I am also doing a further qualification in small animal surgery. In my spare time I enjoy watching sports, going to the gym, and long walks with my Border Collie Storm.

After completing my post graduate degree in Veterinary Medicine from Kerala, India, I moved to U.K. and received my MRCVS in 2005. Since then I have been working as a small animal vet initially in Birmingham, then in the North West and finally settled in Medivet Chorley in 2018. I enjoy all aspects of small animal work with interest in both medicine and surgery equally. Outside of work, I enjoy fell walking, gardening, a bit of baking, watching movies and spending time with my family and friends . I grew up with lots of animals back home in India. Currently, I have some beautiful Koi carps in my garden pond, but over the years, I had two beloved cats; Kitkat and Caramel and some beautiful canaries and finches too. I believe in the strong bond between human and animal and by helping an animal, helping a human too.

Hi I’m Alison. I qualified as a vet from Glasgow University in 1991. I started in mixed practice at Hillcrest Chorley at the old Eaves Lane site! I then did a residency in feline medicine and a PhD in feline respiratory disease at Liverpool University before returning to general practice. I have spent most of my working life in veterinary practice in the North-West except for a couple of years in the pharmaceutical industry and a short period working in Australia. I returned to the Chorley practice in August 2023 where I work part-time. My particular areas of interest are internal medicine and feline shelter medicine. In my spare time I am a trustee and vet for Woodlands Animal Sanctuary, a charity in Holmeswood, Lancashire which focusses on cat rescue; I also enjoy gardening and spending time with my family and elderly Border Terrier!

Night Veterinary Surgeon

Hi, I'm Lucy and I'm one of the night vets at Chorley Medivet. I graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2021 and have been working in small animal practice since. My favourite part of the job is seeing patients that I've cared for go home to their owners after being unwell. Outside of work I enjoy hiking with my 2 dogs and rock climbing.

My name is Jenny. I am one of the night vets here at Medivet Chorley. I have worked in small animal practice for almost 9 years now, and been in emergency and critical care for the last year. I have a particular interest in surgery and have a drive to deliver the best care we can to every patient. Outside of work you'll find me playing sport, usually football, and travelling, I love to explore new places.

Can’t recommend this practice enough. Took my dog here as an emergency at the end of march as she got hit by a car, even when I wasn’t a customer at their practice. They seen to her straight away. We knew she had broken her leg and needed operating on however my original vets I was with were useless and very rude. Unfortunately the surgeon was not in over the weekend but the vets offered to take my dog in over to weekend to keep her medicated so she wasn’t in any pain. As soon as the surgeon was in they operated straight away. I can’t thank the staff at this practice enough. They were extremely sympathetic and all seemed like they genuinely cared about their job and the animals they care for. Extra shoutout to the surgeon Joe who was in theatre for hours trying to save her leg. Even though it had to come to amputation, the reassurance he gave me was incredible. Her scar has healed beautifully. Another shoutout to a think her name was Ros. People like this is what make coming to the vets a better experience. She was so lovely and genuinely cared so much about my dog. I will forever be grateful for this vets, because of them my dog managed to celebrate her 1st birthday and go the beach for the first time! She starts hydrotherapy next week and I can’t wait. Thank you thank you thank you Hillcrest!!!

Attended this vets for an emergency for my cat after seeing her unwell for 24 hours and no improvement. I've given one star for the nice reception team but that's as far ill go. After given a price for an emergency care and overnight I was the charged a further amount that I wasn't aware of and still didn't get an answer on what caused the issue. The medication they gave cost 3 x more than any price found online if not more. Its a complete rip off. When I asked to collect my cat they then said she needs to stay overnight again so they can monitor her. I collected and took her home immediately. The vet bill for less than 24 hrs was £750, without surgery or any diagnosis just overnight, emergency and medication which can be bought online for £11. Thank you for leaving us absolutely broke with no way of affording this with no diagnosis. We managed to find the medication online from a trusted site for more than 75% cheaper. I cannot believe they are allowed to rip people off like this just because its the only vets in the area with emergency care. I'm absolutely disgusted at the greed of this company.

Excellent practice… They were excellent with both my dogs CJ and Diesel and now with my new pup Creed. The whole team are friendly and the vet Chris Manning always goes the extra mile and on Creeds first visit he took the time to go through his current diet and calculate what he needs and that his current diet is too high in certain nutrients and save his from damage. I wouldn’t use any other vet and Chris is an amazing vet. I would also like to give a special mention to Ros who has been amazing and always goes above and beyond. Thank you Mohammad & Creed
