Let me start by saying the practice is amazing especially the reception staff - I have previously visited with my cat Hughie and had an amazing experience with both reception admin staff and the vet was amazing with my nervous cat - however - my visit yesterday was AWFUL! - I visited for immunisations for my sweet little rescue dog - the lady on reception with beautiful short shiny hair welcomed us and was so excited to meet us and made my sweet boy feels so at ease - then our appointment started and he first of all made me lift my overweight dog into the metal table without even saying hello to the dog and processed to look in his ears that went well- then he wanted to look inside my dogs mouth …. This man held this sweet rescue dog by the hair of his chin and his lip and refused to let go and told me “he needs to comply” .. I have no words. I explained the dogs history and it clearly went into one ear and out the other. I then removed my dog from the table as he was so stressed I was worried he was going to fall off - after that I saw there was a nail and the vet picked it up and said “oh look Alby you ripped your nail from thrashing its probably your dew claw” - I’ve never visited a vet that has left us with a claw missing - I was so stressed to see an animal so uncomfortable I left as quick as I could. Once I arrived home I burst into tears and I called the practice to make sure we wasn’t booked in again with the man we saw - I was told it was a locum and my message will be passed on and that I won’t be booked with him again - I can no longer touch my dogs mouth after this experience when I could easily check his teeth before - I hope that this message reaches the right people because I would be heart broken if another animal has to be handled like he did - I want to stress that my unhappiness with our experience on this occasion lies only with that locum vet - every single interaction I and my pets have had before have been 100/10 and I have zero complaints about both reception or vet before this day
I’m sorry that this message is so long but I really am just so traumatised by this visit as in my sweet little rescue dog who did not deserve to be treated that way
I am angry at myself for not speaking up at the appointment but I was in literal shock

We recently moved to this practice from another branch in the same chain after being really impressed with the care they gave our cat Monty. About six months ago he was rushed in with anaphylaxis and every vet we saw was brilliant. They acted quickly, explained everything clearly and I’m sure their fast response saved his life. There were a few complications afterwards but the team handled everything really well. Everyone we dealt with was professional, kind and reassuring. We’ve just been back for Monty’s six month check up and saw a new vet, Henry, who was absolutely excellent. He took his time with Monty, gave him a very thorough examination and explained everything in a clear and calm way. He was gentle, professional and you could tell he genuinely cared. It’s always reassuring when a vet takes that much care and attention, and Monty was completely relaxed with him. Monty got a clean bill of health which we’re so pleased about. The reception staff are always friendly and welcoming too. We honestly can’t fault this practice. It’s a shame to see a few negative reviews as being a 24 hour hospital they probably deal with the tougher and more expensive emergency cases. From our experience they’ve been caring, skilled and completely professional. We’re very grateful for everything they’ve done for Monty.

They saved my cat's life. He ate a one metre long elastic string on a Sunday morning, which could be deadly. They told me to go immediately, advised on options and allowed me to take an informed decision. Their prompt action avoided the most dreadful consequences. I can't recommend them enough.

My cat is still undergoing treatment & the issue hasn't improved yet (which is not Medivet's fault) so I'm not in a position to give a proper review yet.

Waiting time for appointment quite long, very little space to sit, ended up standing for a long time. Staff super friendly, kind and very patient. They took the necessary time to explain everything. We felt listened and understood
