I joined Medivet Shrewsbury practice straight after graduating in 2013. I’d never lived in Shrewsbury before but having moved here it has very quickly felt like home. I have been Branch Partner since July 2017 and it has flown by. I have completed my Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice and I’ve just enrolled on a further certificate in surgery. I have three dogs – a border terrier and two cocker spaniels – a cat, and have recently started keeping some marine fish. In my spare time, I enjoy weightlifting.

I have been working at Medivet Shrewsbury for three years and thoroughly enjoy the hustle and bustle of hospital life. After qualifying in 2015, I eventually returned to my hometown of Shrewsbury and started here at Medivet. I have many pets including three dogs, two cats, two rabbits and a horse named Toffee. I have also recently started keeping marine fish. I love being outside walking the dogs or riding my horse. I’m always keen to further my skills so I aim to enrol onto the Advance Veterinary Nursing course this year.

I began working in a Telford-based practice in 1999, before moving to Staffordshire to start my Senior Veterinary Nurse training. I qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2003 at a veterinary hospital. I started working at Medivet Shrewsbury in 2011 as Head Nurse, and now since having my children, I work part-time as the Senior Clinical Nurse. My interests are all things surgical. I enjoy theatre work and emergency cases especially, but I love all aspects of my job. I am currently studying towards a Nurse Certificate in Anaesthesia, which I'm loving. I have a lovely dog called Flo.

I have been at Medivet Shrewsbury for just over 10 years, having qualified in 2019 and grown up in the area. As well as my own dogs and two cats, I also look after two dogs every day and we enjoy going on long walks together.

I have worked at the hospital for six years after moving here from Merseyside, where I worked in retail management. Moving to the countryside and changing career has been the best decision for me and my family, including my cat Peggy and my terrier Fizz, who loves to come walking with me to explore the area. Outside work, I love to travel and experience different cultures.

Our cat was suddenly very unwell with a thrombosis and we expected it would be his last day, he was suffering. Took him here and they were kind, sympathetic and efficient during a very difficult time. Prices seemed fair for out of hours on a Sunday.

A REVIEW ON MEDIVET IN SHREWSBURY I visited Medivet emergency service after it was obvious that my cat had been hit by a car and had broken both his back legs. If I had read the reviews on Google beforehand I wouldn't have bothered but my Vets direct me to Medivet if it's out of office emergency. Before I got there you could tell by sight that his back legs were severe. After the vet checked him he confirmed that he had broken/damaged both legs and only gave me 2 options, one was for us to pay a £1000 to keep him in, give him antibiotics, pain relief, fluids etc. and transfer him to my vets the following morning or to pay £239.85 for the consultation (£150) and Injections (antibiotics, pain relief and sedative) and to take him home and then take him to our vets ourself the following morning. This was the only 2 options I was given. There was no suggestion on x-ray or scans (just when I take him to my own vets the following morning, not an offer for him to do any) or whether the injury was beyond repair and would need to be put to sleep, which to me looked like the case as his legs were that bad. When we decided to go for the option to take him home we were told that it seemed like the best option as there is nothing they would differently him being admitted to him being at home. I didn't think he would make it through the night as he was that unwell, however felt a little optimistic after the consultation. When visiting my vets in the morning they did the same assessment as the vet at Medivet and explained that because of how bad the fractures etc were the kindest option would be to have Simba put to sleep. There was no need for x-ray etc. When I wrote to Medivet to explain that I was disappointed with the vets consultation and that my poor cat suffered longer than what was necessary. I received a response to say that the vet had put in the case notes that options of x-ray were given and a discussion about putting Simba to sleep was also discussed. This has angered me as this is false! This was never an option and if I had known the severity of his injury I would not have made him suffer until the next day. I felt the vet just wanted us in and out and to pay. There was definitely not a discussion had like he states in his notes and therefore I am not only grieving our loss of our beautiful boy but also left feeling like we are defending ourselves for things that were not discussed or said. It was a waste of £150 consultation fee and only happy to have paid for the pain relief he was given, but I could have said about his back legs being broken etc. without paying £150 to be told that. Absolutely awful. All about the money and £876 just to administer fluids and alsorts of extras on the bill that they had not done...charging me for the 2nd day whilst in the same breath saying he won't make it through the (first) night. Its not the first time Ive lost a loved one at this vets either. I have found a 24hr vet just outside Shrewsbury now and will take my business there. Much better. STEER WELL CLEAR OF THESE RIP OFF MERCHANTS.

This is not serious company. I’m Coming with healthy dog for free puppy check sugest after the register in website "medivet". Then I have to pay £53 for completely nothing Ridiculus. This is something wrong. I’m just losing my time and losing my money. I wasn’t many time on similar place and I never see something like that. I will say stay away.
