As an orthopaedic surgeon I qualified as a vet in 2001 and joined the Easthampstead practice. I then moved to Wokingham in 2018 alongside Hayley Fordyce. I own two cats called Nightingale and Sooty, who were left outside the Easthampstead practice as kittens, as well as a tortoise called Mo. I met my wife at choir practice; my children now spend their time singing in the same choir.

I qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 2009, then cycled the famous Lands' End to John O’Groats route to raise funds for a volunteering trip to the Indian animal charity TOLFA. I then spent my first year in a Lincolnshire mixed practice, before switching to solely small animal work in Suffolk for 3 years. I then led a small practice in Bracknell for 6 years where I achieved my Certificate in Small Animal Medicine. I am now Branch Partner and Lead Vet for Medivet’s busy 24-hour Wokingham hospital, growing a team of skilled colleagues, forging trusting relationships with clients, and developing an advanced healthcare service for their pets. I enjoy exploring the British countryside with my wife and 2 daughters, and have Lily the Pets As Therapy Springador, Sprout the cat and Twix the guinea pig.

I am originally from Tenerife, Spain, where I qualified as a vet in 2019. Upon completing my studies, I moved to the UK, where I have been passionately working in small animal medicine and surgery. My greatest enjoyment comes from performing laparoscopic bitch spays, which led me to pursue and successfully complete a postgraduate certificate in Endoscopy and Endosurgery in 2024. At home, I have two beloved tabby cats, Rabito and Pocoyo, who bring so much joy to my life. Living in the UK has been a wonderful experience, and I always make time to explore its beautiful places alongside my partner.

Be very wary about signing up with this vet practice. Some time ago, we brought our dog in for a routine spay and gastropexy procedure. I was persuaded by the Easthampstead branch (my regular vet) that I should go for the laparoscopic option because recovery time would likely be better for my dog, and it would be much less invasive. The estimate changed about 3 times before I actually booked her in as they kept changing their mind, but as I trusted them, having been a customer for many years, I gave them the benefit of the doubt. The operation was done at the Wokingham branch because they had all the specialist equipment there. After the surgery my dog had massive complications, caused by a leak from her stomach into her abdomen. She had 2 further operations as she was so unwell, the first was out of hours on Sunday night and performed by the same vet who did her original procedure. She found no tear or issue with the stomach despite her colleague telling me earlier that evening that she believed stomach contents was leaking, she just said there was an infection and they’d cleaned my dogs abdomen out and put her on strong antibiotics and that should hopefully sort out the problem. A few days later after my dog kept going downhill whilst in their care, the partners decided to do a third operation and found that her stomach had torn and become necrotic - they had to remove half her stomach. After that, she recovered very quickly. She was like a different dog within a few hours of her procedure, despite having been through 3 general anaesthetics in a week, and having repeatedly had her abdomen opened and closed. The total bill was several thousand pounds, they did the third operation for free which I believe is because they suspected something had gone amiss in the original operation, and in the second. They deny this. I believe that a mistake in the original operation caused this issue, they deny that and tried to claim that my dog must have been sick and I didn’t tell them about it. Can you imagine how upsetting that was after we’d been through such a traumatising experience? I would never withhold important information like that, I did everything I could to help my dog get better. Even if there wasn’t a mistake in the original operation and it was just bad luck, they should have spotted it in the second operation - my dog almost died because they didn’t. I made a complaint and have been passed over to their insurers with no empathy from the vet practice whatsoever. The insurers are hard ball and have basically told me to get lost, the information contained in their replies to me contains several inaccuracies and falsehoods. I can’t prove what happened but I will never take my dogs to Medivet again. We are now with an honest local independent vet who spayed one of my younger dogs the traditional way, her incision was tiny, nothing like what Medivet said my dog would have if we didn’t choose a laparoscopic procedure. And the procedure was a quarter of the cost too. I will say that all of the vet nurses who cared for my dog while she was staying over were fantastic. They were so kind and I spent a lot of time there, and saw them take great care of all the other animals as well as mine. It’s just a shame the practice didn’t take accountability and apologise for what we went through - everyone makes mistakes, I understand that. I just wanted an acknowledgment and apology for what happened, and a refund of the thousands of pounds we had to spend with them as a result of the mistake. I didn’t complain just to be a pain and try to get a load of compensation out of them. That’s how I was made to feel, yet I never asked for that. I want to know they’ve changed their practices so that nobody else has to go through what we have but they didn’t even bother replying to that bit.
