Veterinary Surgeon

I graduated as a veterinary surgeon in 2020 from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece. After working for a few months in a small animal practice in Greece I decided to move to the UK to experience something new . I have been working for Medivet for almost two years now mostly between three branches, one of them being Standish. I have an interest in internal medicine and ultrasonography.

Nicky Burrows

Veterinary Nurse

Nicky has been at Tyldesley Vets since we opened in September 2000, she also assisted in the opening of our Adlington and Standish branches and now splits her time between all 3 branches. She qualified in 1999 after doing her training at Myerscough College. She is our head nurse and is also in charge of the insurance paperwork. She has a Jack Russell, Rosie, who comes to work with her every day. Nicky has a keen interest in horse riding and has two horses, Josh and Meg, whom she competes with most weekends.

Zophia Jones

Practice Manager

Zophia spends most of her time managing the practice and our wonderful team. Keeping everything running smoothly is more than a full time job, and on top of this Zophia is always looking for ways in which we can exceed our clients' expectations. Most of Zophia's time is spent behind the scenes supporting our team, and complements the veterinary staff. She particularly likes the diversity and challenges that occur daily, and helping owners and their companions. Outside of work Zophia is just as busy with her three boys, two dogs and cat. Unsurprisingly, the animals are easier to deal with.

Emily the vet and both of the nurses we saw were just lovely. Very caring and empathetic. Explained everything thoroughly. Made a very worrying situation less stressful. Burt can be very anxious but they took there time with him to ease his fears. Really lovely practise.

I can't fault Medivet Chorley in their professionalism in looking after our dog for her final couple of days. It was comforting to know she was being cared for in the best possible way. Good communication throughout and a feeling that the staff understood our wishes when it came to say goodbye to Bella.

Archie Blue looks absolutely amazing. The best haircut he's ever had. Thank you so much for looking after our long haired British Blue.
Loved his boots.
Fantastic that you removed the clump of knots around his mane.
He looks smarter and he's happier too.
Big thank you

The staff were ace. It would also be good to develop some local young animal lovers who want to help care for animals and possibly become vets.

Our dog was unwell and needed to visit the emergency vet after hours, and attend follow on appointments at the Adlington practice. The vets who cared for our very nervous dog were very patient, compassionate and professional. We were made to feel welcome by all staff we encountered, and have no hesitation in recommending them to others. Massive thanks.
