Lead Veterinary Surgeon

I qualified at the University of Pretoria, South Africa in 1980 and owned my own practice for 25 years before moving to the UK. I’ve been part of the Medivet Boston team for four years now and I’m blessed to work with such a lovely group of people. In my spare time, my wife and I enjoy the outdoors and travelling. I mostly take part in cycling but also enjoy walking, scuba diving, game viewing and aeroplanes of any shape and size.

Head Veterinary Nurse

I joined the practice in 2006 after graduating with a Biology degree and found my perfect career in veterinary nursing combining my love of science and animals. I qualified as an RVN in 2011 from the College of Animal Welfare. As Head Nurse I enjoy my time caring for the patients as well as the organisational tasks of ensuring the smooth running of the practice. Outside of work, I love walking my scruffy terrier Doris, gardening and yoga.

I have a National Diploma in Animal Care and have been a qualified care assistant for many years. I joined the practice 13 years ago after leaving school. In my spare time I play hockey locally and for the East of England team. I rescued my lovely adventure dog a year ago after he was abandoned at the practice. I'm happiest when I'm on the beach with my wife and dog.

I started working at the practice as a receptionist in March 2015, whilst also studying for a degree in Psychology with counselling. Once my degree was completed, I then went on to start my vet nursing journey by becoming a Patient Care Assistant in October 2020. Alongside my role as a PCA I am responsible for processing insurance claims and helping clients with their pet insurance queries, which I really enjoy. I love nursing and working with animals and from a young age I have always known that this is what I wanted to do. Outside of work I enjoy birdwatching, needle felting and have a great love for all things Wildlife-related. At home I have two cats, called Hilda and Frida, and a Zebra Finch called Skadi.

I joined the practice in 2011 and gained my Veterinary Nursing Diploma through the College of Animal Welfare whilst working here as a student nurse, qualifying in 2016. I live in Boston with my husband and two young children, and have two cats called Trilby and Alan. My favourite part about my job is running Nurse Clinics and seeing regular patients and their owner's, who I get to build a good rapport with. A highlight of my career was volunteering in India working with street animals.

I have completed a Certificate in Feline Nursing, as I have always had a passion for caring for our feline friends. My favourite part about my job is being able to build a positive relationship with clients through regular visits, as well as being able to watch their pets grow and thrive.

The doctors don't care about pets. My pet cut a paw. Despite of bleeding doctor didn't put a bandage on explaining that the cat takes it off anyway. No antibiotics or painkillers either. At home, one hour later the paw was bleeding heavily, the blood was everywhere and it coudn't stop. I went to another practice where my cat was checked with care, she was given antibiotics, a course of painkillers, and put a bandage because of a VERY DEEP WOUND. If they put a bandage on the wound in the first place it could stop bleeding earlier. They didn't treat the cat because it was our planned visit under our health plan (free) and they wanted us to book a paid appointment. I'll not recommend Medivet to anyone because it was my second bad experience with them. The doctors in the practice are not professional and they don't care about their patients, they care about making money. My cat is highly stressed by so many vet visits and her paw will heal longer because she was not given proper treatment immediately. Will move to another practice and will try to forget them as a nightmare.
