Partner and Veterinary Surgeon

I am the lead vet and branch partner at Medivet Brodie. I've been with Medivet since 2015, and joined Medivet Brodie in January 2017. I enjoy working as a first-opinion vet, assisting all our clients and their beloved pets. I have a special interest in small animal surgery, and am pursuing a specialist certificate in this field, along with dermatology competencies. I have a small Shih Tzu mix dog named Callie, whom we rescued two years ago. She may be small, but she has the heart and teeth of a lion. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time in nature, hiking and trekking with Callie, my two boys, and my beloved wife. Recently, I have developed an interest in longevity and health span, adopting a holistic approach that includes physical activity, balanced nutrition, stress management, adequate sleep, and quality connections.

Veterinary Surgeon

Hi! I'm Susana, and I've been a Vet at Medivet since 2019. Having grown up close to the rivers and mountains of northern Portugal, I always felt very connected to the natural world. So, from a young age I knew I would dedicate my life to animal care. I graduated from the University of Lisbon, and soon after I moved to Liverpool. It didn't take long to fall in love with the city and its people, so much so that I decided to make it my home! My main interests are internal medicine, dentistry, and diagnostic imaging, and I work daily to develop my skills in those areas. Outside of work I enjoy spending quality time with my family and friends. I'm taking the first steps in macro photography - seeing all the small details from little critters feels like a window to another world. I also have a passion for travelling, and love getting to know other cultures and trying new food.

Head Veterinary Nurse

Hi! I'm Vikki, a Registered Veterinary Nurse, and I've been proud to be the Head Nurse at Brodie since 2021. I have a strong passion for anaesthesia and imaging in small animals, and I love being able to provide the best care for my furry patients. I truly enjoy the everyday running of the clinic, from meeting clients and their pets - both old and new - to ensuring everything runs smoothly. One of the most rewarding aspects of my job is mentoring students who come to the clinic for training. It's fantastic to help them develop their skills and share my experience with the next generation of veterinary professionals. Outside of work, I'm really into music, movement, and mindfulness - they bring a lot of joy to my life. I also share my home with two tuxedo cats who definitely rule the roost! It's so true what they say: you don't own a cat; they own you! Balancing my professional life with my personal interests keeps me grounded and fulfilled.

Student Veterinary Nurse

I am a student veterinary nurse. I joined Medivet in December 21' as a mobile care assistant, travelling to different practices before becoming permanent at Brodie in July 23'. I have always had a passion for nature, so being able to help animals first hand is what drew me to this line of work. I have a particular interest in radiography and surgical nursing, and would like to develop these once I have qualified. Outside work I love playing football, spending time outdoors, and trying my hand upcycling and DIY. My latest project is a campervan which will help me see more of the amazing places we have in the UK!

Amy Farmer

Veterinary Nurse

Hi, my name is Amy. I have been with Medivet for just over a year, and become an RVN in November 2023. I am originally from Melbourne, Australia, where I worked as a vet nurse for 2 years whilst finishing my Bachelor of Veterinary Nursing. I then made the move to Liverpool last July to improve my skills as a nurse. I have always been interested in a wide range of animals, and have learnt how to care for domestic animals as well as exotic and farm animals. I have also volunteered in South Africa, where I was lucky enough to help care for the animals in the local townships, and interact with the amazing wildlife there. In my free time I enjoy listening to music and making new knitting and crochet projects. I also love learning new languages and have been teaching myself Danish for the last 10 years! I'm always up for giving something a go, and love trying new things.

Caron Bohanna

Client Care Assistant

My name is Caron. I have been with Medivet Brodie since November 2020. My current role is Client Care Assistant. I have always loved working with animals and people, and for this reason my role suits me well. Before Medivet, I worked in animal rescue for 23 years, helping to prepare animals for their new homes (some of which I get to cuddle now as clients) along with the recruitment and management of the amazing volunteers. During my time in rescue, I got the pleasure of rehoming my beautiful 6 year old cockapoo, Elmo... Who has become a mascot at Brodie, and can often be seen helping in reception. Away from work, I love spending time in the great outdoors. I can often be found near the Welsh hills or seaside, walking, cycling, kayaking, building a sandcastle, or just sitting enjoying an ice cream with Elmo and my partner.

I was recommended this vet by another Medivet it was not my first choice, Was told they had cut something during the castration that wouldn't stop bleeding have had to visit this practise to get antibotic injections daily, to rectify there mistake Now the male vet is trying to sell over priced products he assumes I have a bottomless pit of £££'s This has to be buyer beware, If I want to experience upselling I would be in a fast food restaurant not in the vet's The male receptionist and female vet are the only 2 I would recommend from this practise they are really friendly and helpful Have been sold this Simparica Trio as safe - looking online tells a different story Has Simparica Trio killed dogs? Ted DeSalvo, from Windham, Ohio, suddenly lost his beloved three-year-old boxer Greta after she had to be euthanized following intense seizures on June 2 - a day after she took Simparica Trio medication. The chewable tablet is for dogs and cats to help protect against ticks, fleas and heartworm disease.18 Jul 2024
