Lead Veterinary Surgeon

I was born in Surrey but grew up and studied in Sotuh Africa. I qualified as a vet from the University of Pretoria in 2001 and returned to England a few months later. I have a great interest in cat and dog medicine, as well as in the medicine of wild and exotic species. I gained a further qualification in small animal medicine in 2007 and my RCVS certificate of Zoological and Exotic Medicine in 2011 (CertZooMed). I'm also a trustee of the charity Worldwide Veterinary Services. I opened the Evegate clinic in 2008 with my wife Jane before joining Medivet in 2019.

I started working at Evegate Vets in November 2023 after graduating from the Royal Veterinary College in London, and although new to the team I already feel part of the family! Clinically I have a keen interest in exotics, surgery and emergency medicine. In my spare time I like to unwind with a bit of travelling, climbing, martial arts, cooking and training my two guinea pigs Ronnie and Brownie.

I qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 2020 and joined Evegate in 2025. I'm particularly interested in exotic pets and feline medicine. Alongside Clive I see our zoo patients and my favourites to work with are the wild cats and lemurs. At home I have a pet crested gecko, and outside work I enjoy running and cooking spicy food. In 2023 I joined Medivet's Wilderness Foundation in South Africa, helping save the rhinos, and was able to see the fantastic work done both for rhinos and the local communities.

Head Veterinary Nurse

I qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in May 2021, and since then I’ve had the chance to work both in a busy UK veterinary hospital and alongside a wildlife vet in South Africa. While in South Africa, I also helped run a veterinary volunteer programme in the Eastern Cape, which kickstarted my love for African wildlife. I joined Medivet Evegate as Head Veterinary Nurse in November 2025, and I’m currently studying for an advanced programme in zoo animal nursing to keep building on my skills. Outside of work, I love to travel and spend time with my friends and family.

Veterinary Care Assistant

I'm Markus (they/he) and I'm a Veterinary Care Assistant (VCA). I studied Applied Animal Science at university and while studying I worked as a pet carer looking after dogs, cats, rabbits, and even livestock like chickens, ducks, and goats. Before coming to Medivet Evegate at the end of May 2025, I worked as a zookeeper with a wide variety of species, from tortoises and monkeys to reindeer and capybara, most recently working with tigers, wolves, and bears. As you can probably tell, I love anything big and fluffy and can often be seen around the clinic carrying heavy, sleepy dogs through the hallways after their procedures.

I've been a vet nurse for 16 years and qualified in 2010. In 2013 I gained the certificate for veterinary nursing of exotic species. I have quite a menagerie including three rescue cats, a 12-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier called Suie, a chicken called Hoodie and a husband called Matt. Outside work I enjoy reading and spending time with my family and animals. I'm also involved with a local cub group (my brother is their Arkala) and help them to achieve their animal care badge.

She is currently studying an Advanced Programme in Veterinary Nursing of Zoo, Wildlife and Exotics. She has worked as a Head Nurse for seven years and a Practice Manager for a year. I have loved being a veterinary nurse for over 20 years. I qualified in 2006 and been part of the team since it opened. After 12 years of being Head Nurse and a clinical coach, I now enjoy a part time role whilst raising a young family with two small children. I have rescued various pets over the years and currently have a very cuddly cat called Loki. I enjoy country walks, pub lunches, reading and socialising with family and friends.

I started working for Medivet Evegate in April 2022. I’ve always had a love for animals and working so closely with them is a dream come true. Currently at home I have three dogs, Spot, Rolo and Lolly, and a horse called Tommy. In my spare time I enjoy brisk walks in the country side where we live, and catching up with friends with family.

Fantastic service from the Evegate clinic. From reception to the nurse and the vet. They cared beautifully for our cat after he had been attacked by another cat. The way they treated and helped him was wonderful. Thank you.
