Partner and Veterinary Surgeon

I graduated as a vet from Porto University in 2016, alongside classmates Gus and Thora. Being forced by the later to live in the UK, I quickly discovered an untapped aptitude for my role as a veterinary surgeon. I am passionate about helping our patients and their carers to live their best lives, whenever possible. I have a keen interest in orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery. You’ll often hear me complaining about British weather, some of my hobbies are formula one driving, motorcycling and bodyboarding.

I grew up in Figueira da Foz a seaside city in the sunny centre of Portugal and spent half of my childhood in my granny's farm with all the animals and the other half trekking and sailing with the Scouts. I graduated as a Veterinary Surgeon from Porto University in 2015 and worked there for a few years. I came over to the UK in 2018 and begun working in Medivet, since 2019 I have proudly been a permanent vet at lovely Great Denham! My main clinical interests revolve around internal medicine and soft tissue surgery, and I am currently working on solidifying my knowledge on abdominal ultrasound imaging and expanding into laparoscopic surgery. Outside of work I like to travel as much as possible and spend quality time with friends and family. I'm also an avid gamer and computer enthusiast. I sadly do not have any pets to call my own, but I do like to consider all my patients a bit like my adopted furry children!

I graduated as a vet from Porto University in 2015 and knew from a young age that I wanted to live in the UK. I've always been captivated by the country’s scenery and respect for nature, but above all, for their genuine love of animals. I'm a dog lover and also a cat-mom to Sam and Cuba. I have a keen interest in animal behaviour, soft tissue surgery and clinical pathology. Some of my favourite hobbies are photography, hiking and crafting.

I have taken two of my cats to the vet recently, one for a dental procedure which went very well. The care given was amazing. The 2nd cat is a very scared girl who needs a lot of help and will sadly also need lengthy treatment. The options have been explained clearly and the cat has been given utmost care. I bring all 13 of my complex health rescues to Medivet Great Denham, also my fosters and the care, support and help is above and beyond. I can’t thank the team enough for everything they do

The clinic is clean, and the staff are polite, with good communication regarding appointments. However, we have had a few disappointing experiences when taking our cats here, particularly with one veterinarian. He came across as patronizing, which made us feel uncomfortable, and his instructions were unclear. Unfortunately, this affected our confidence in the care provided. While the facility itself is well-run, our experience with this particular vet was not a positive one.

I had attended the vets practice on numerous occasions. The staff are friendly nice and my dog got lots of attention. I took him again for the same problem he'd already had an operation for..( he's been to 5 different vets umpteen times with the same problem) whilst making the appointment via phone I was advised they now have to take a £60 deposit. Ok I thought and paid. We went to appointment and he was given yet more pills 10 days worth and a jab £320... and advice to make another appointment for approx 10 days time.. I did this, paid the bill and left. The day before said appointment I received an email stating to contact vet to pay deposit. I called and explained this was a follow up requested by the vet. I was informed it doesn't matter it the price of consultation and must be paid before my dog will be seen. I cancelled the appointment and shall not be returning. It seems the vet can have me return every week and I have the privilege of paying £60 to do so. A licence to print money in my opinion. I know its a business but care has taken a back step and greed has overtaken. A pet cured is a customer lost....

This practice comes highly recommended! My cat is super spicy and vet Jorge just takes it in his stride. Being a 1st time cat mum, my worries are always pacified and questions always answered. Living in the total opposite end of town with a vet’s literally down the road from me, the fact that I’m happy to go there I think says it all. Keep up the good work 👌

Took our 2 cats for their annual jabs. As always it was a welcoming and professional led experience even when 1 cat was definitely not cooperating. Vet was clear in his explanations and listened to our questions, answering them and reassuring us. Could not imagine giving the care of our beloved pets to anyone else.

Appointment start time was a few minutes late starting but where animals are involved they have no clock so a short delay is to be expected. Vet apologised for the delay.
