I qualified in 2005 in South Korea and joined Medivet in 2007, becoming branch partner at Risedale in 2009. I've completed a programme in Equine Dentistry and Reproduction from Texas A&M University and have a masters degree in Control of Infectious Diseases in Animals. I also hold a Postgraduate Certificate in Small Animal Surgery. I'm interested in small animal surgery, specifically laparoscopic and orthorpaedic surgeries. I love the relationship I have with all our clients and their pets, and am enjoying learning and progressing in my role everyday. At home I have a rescue cat called Garlie. Garlie had several serious health issues when he was first adopted, now with our tender loving care, he is totally transformed to be a happy, content and loving cat.

I enjoy working at Risedale with our exceptional team but I am also very thankful to be looking after all the amazing animals which come through our door.

Student Veterinary Nurse

I joined Risedale in October 2022 and I am a final year nursing student due to qualify at the end of this year. I started at Medivet as a Patient Care Assistant in December 2020, where I learned the fundamentals of working in a veterinary practice and gained plenty of experience in patient care and handling to prepare for starting my training as a Student Veterinary Nurse in January 2022. Prior to working at Medivet, I completed a FdSc in animal behaviour and welfare at Berkshire College of Agriculture, which provided me with the opportunity to take part in conservation work in South Africa and at a wolf sanctuary in the UK. I enjoy all aspects of nursing, with a particular interest in imaging and feline nursing.

I am always happy with the staff at medivet. And they always treat my dog with care. They are very helpful, and always take time to explain anything. I have been with medivet for 11 years and I would definitely recommend them

I asked for recommendations when I moved to the area and I'm so glad I listened. Nicola and the team have supported me to make the best decisions for my aging cat and I love the fact that they have taken a full view of Tiger and despite the fact the latest blood tests weren't so positive, they aren't ready to give up on him, due to his overall brightness. If it weren't for the weight loss you'd never know he was 16 with struggling kidneys. I know they'll support to make the best decisions for him when and if we reach a point where treatment isn't helping enough. This is only the 2nd vets I've been with but I feel the compassion more with Risedale than my first vets.

Our previous vet wanted to put our aging Black Labrador down due to a toe infection. We were not satisfied and wanted a second opinion. Medivet at Risedale Road dealt with the toe, then did a full examination and found him to be a happy dog with many months ahead of him. Kyumi has been terrific, taking a personal interest in our dog and giving him unparalleled care. All the staff are friendly and professional and we can't recommend them enough. 9 months on and our fella is still going strong. We are so grateful that Kyumi and Nicola have given us precious extra time with our dog, with, hopefully, more to come.

Doctor Kyumi was very nice and she genuinly cared for my dog's wellbeing. She managed to find the reason why he was not well , although I went to other vets in Hemel Hempstead who costs more and with no results. Would definately recommend.

We used this branch for two previous dogs then after ten years without a dog returned when we got a new puppy to find cheerful staff and a member who remembered our last dog.
