I’ve worked at Medivet Hornsey since June 2024 and have learnt so much while I’ve been here! I have always loved animals and knew I wanted to work with them in any capacity. If I’m not at work, I’m at home cuddling with my Ragamuffin cat, Missy.

My name is Michelle Norgan. I work at Hornsey vets in the cattery/cat hotel giving the feline hotel resident’s an amazing stay while the parents are having their trips of a life time. I have enjoyed working with animals all my life. However, I did train as a plumber but struggled to find the job satisfaction that you get from working with animals. I returned to working with animals and found the job I do now which I have been doing for the past 10 years. I enjoy spending time at the stables with my horse and dogs, walking and spending time with nature enjoying the outdoors. I had never worked with cats prior to starting this position and I find them to be wild affectionate animals with the most amazing personalities who just need a home from home while their parents have a trip away.

I could not recommend Hornsey Medivet enough. I had to rush a dog, who isn’t mine but was in my care, to the vet nearest to me yesterday as she had heat stroke. The vet saw us immediately. All staff were extremely kind, patient and did an excellent job in assuring me that she was going to be okay.

I cannot thank the team enough for looking after my elderly and reactive rescue dog. We normally see Ianthi who is the head vet. She is an excellent vet who treats our rather difficult (and enormous) dog with patience and kindess. She has even managed to get him to walk voluntarily onto the weighing scales and even walk into a treatment room. Also, we purchase a copy of our prescriptions and buy the medication online - and it’s always allows us to use it twice which saves us paying for a new prescription every time Furthermore, when our elderly cat was diagnosed with cancer we requested an animal oncologist, and they issued our referral on the same day, they also reviewed him every Saturday until it was time to say goodbye.

I have used Medicare for a while, the unprofessionalism is unbelievable, it’s all about the credit card machine, they don’t have any empathy , w. My cat is 20 years old too Rikky to the vet as we saw blood in his stool, after a quick seeing to had to pay about £167 not too sure and I was hi a liquid pain killer for Ricky, the vet could see the cat was timid and also dispensing liquid would have been a problem. I tried to give Ricky his first dose was a struggle, called the vet to see if Ivan have an alternative, but it took this vet 2 and half weeks to me to offer an alternative, with my work schedule it’s difficult to get to them , I managed to get there on the 21/05/2025 after many messages. To my horror, as soon I gave my post code, the receptionist had the credit card machine out, checked the medication and told me I have to pay £26. I refused, because that’s not the conversation I had with the vet. He asked me to wait for 10 minutes tonight avail in the end I left both medications. Got an email to say that since the medicine has been dispensed a month ago they can’t swap it, but you the same people who took2weeks to get back to me. They are incompetent, it’s just about the money . NO PROPER CARE AND NO CUSTOMER SERVICE NEVER AGAIN. They need to get their act together together and give good service. I will never visit them again. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Would be zero if possible. Took my xl in with pyometra (infected womb), they then charged me £400 to tell me she has pyometra (d'uh). I would need £3.5k minimum for removal and had to pay up front. I got it done for £1k at a truly amazing vets in Hampstead which is now my dogs permanent vet regardless of travelling distance. This place sees you as money only, the welfare of animals in not a factor. They legally have to treat wild animals and when we took a pigeon in the really rude, large nurse with short brown hair (the one that looks at you like you're dirt) told us to stick it outside and leave it for the foxes. Hideous behaviour. How can they ask for 3.5k minimum for an operation that's a third of that.? Stick with independent vet practices, large chains are all about the money.

Highly recommend Medivet Hornsey! I have been a client here close to a year now, and have only had positive experiences. All three of my pets have received stellar veterinary care, that is thorough, dedicated and compassionate. A special mention to Ana and Vasilis, two fantastic vets, whom my pets adore. Ana has won over the affections of my spicy calico cat, and Vasilis has been absolutely brilliant with my often reactive and anxious German Shepherd. Additionally, Katherine and Pritam, veterinary care assistants, are so friendly and helpful, both in person and on the phone, they have a lovely manner. I’ve been offered flexibility in terms of appointments and payments. As a client, it has felt like a return to a more personal practice of veterinary medicine—regardless of which pet I bring in, staff always ask after the well-being of the others and truly care. It really has been a pleasure to visit the vets!

My mum was treated so kindly and with so much compassion when it came to her elderly poorly cat , they gave my mum access to a veterinary room all afternoon while she waited for family members to arrive as she is a pensioner and was so upset and needed some support and to have some time to say goodbye , the vets were absolutely amazing and when the time came it was so peaceful . Thank you so much Theos Family
