Lois Wilkie

Branch Partner & Veterinary Surgeon

I graduated from the Royal Veterinary College, London with Honours in 2012. I then worked for 6 months in a clinic for geriatric cats (I love an oldie) before completing a 3-year PhD in feline cardiology. Part of my PhD involved travelling around the UK performing heart scans, and it was during this time I first visited and fell in love with the practice. Originally from Hertfordshire, I relocated to join the practice in 2017 and became Branch Partner here in 2023. I have just completed the final modules of a post-graduate certificate in Feline Internal Medicine and have a passion for cardiology and internal medicine. Outside of work, I'm kept busy by my three cats and young daughter. I enjoy running, callisthenics, climbing and gardening

I can’t praise Cardiff cat clinic enough. The staff are very friendly and there’s a calm atmosphere in the waiting room. Marley and Darcey are not traumatised by their visits as they were in their previous vets. Lois and Jess always take plenty of time to answer any questions. I have already recommended Cardiff cat clinic to friends who have moved their cats over to the clinic.

Been bringing all our cats to the cat clinic for close on 20 years, wouldn’t dream of taking them elsewhere, but prices since becoming a Medivet practice seem to have skyrocketed,

Cassie has been cared for by The Cat Clinic for many years, through thick & thin with the utmost of knowledge and patience 💗 having Lois still with you is a bonus, because she knows Cassie & her history. I have absolute confidence in the care taken to look after our cats. Unfortunately, it seems that somehow Cassie had got lost on your new systems, so Lois didn't have any history to compare how she is now, to her previous visit. I don't know if they've found her records yet. I was, however, taken aback by the cost of our recent visit & do wonder if this is because the practice has been taken over by a large vetinary company, who are more concerned about making money, as seems to be the case nowadays 😔

It can be a very stressful time dealing with a poorly pet as they are part of your family.
The Medivet team at Llanishen Cardiff are always sensitive to this & a special shout out to Lois as her demeanour & expertise are second to none at every visit.

It is a wonderful practice and always smells great. Unlike some other vets practices I've been to in the past. I do miss Mr Edwards and his wife. But Lois is caring and brilliant and my cat Bobby loves her. Jess is lovely too and the lady on the reception desk. Its is wonderful it is only for cats
