Valerie Maguire

Veterinary Surgeon

Some of you may know Valerie already as she has been the locum vet for the town vet since September. Val has been practising for 31 years, and has enjoyed a very varied career across England Scotland Wales and NI. During that time Val was appointed senior vet for the first animal charity hospital in Belfast where she worked for just under 10 years, then enjoyed a busy career as a locum vet in sunny West Sussex and Essex before relocating to Lancashire to lead the clinical team in Blackpool. In 2023 Val decided to work again in NI and was delighted to work at the Town Vet where she has enjoyed the variety of work and getting to know the clients. Val is a seasoned all rounder but is very interested in medical work ups and ultrasound imaging. In her spare time Val likes to run, do hiit and has done 2 Camino walks across Portugal and Spain.

Anna Stefanini

Veterinary Surgeon

Anna graduated in Italy in 2015, she moved to Ireland straight after her graduation. Over the year she practice veterinary medicine at 360 degree looking after small animals, large animals and horses. Lately Anna decided to focus her interest in Small animals. She truly enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, her passion and love for animals motivate her to do her best with every single patient. Outside work Anna loves keep active with great outdoor adventures, always in company of her partner her family and friends.

Gillian Calder

Veterinary Nurse

Gillian joined the practice in Feb 2020 having graduated from the university of Aberdeen with a degree in Animal Care. She went then to study in Greenmount College for the diploma in Veterinary Nursing. Gillian has a keen interest in all aspects of Veterinary Nursing. In the past few years, she has successfully completed courses in Anaesthesia, surgical nursing and emergency critical care with the RVC London. Gillian likes to keep up to date with the new clinical knowledge to provide a high standard of nursing care for the patients. At home in her free time, Gillian enjoys the great outdoors with her little boy and husband. Gillian also shares a beautiful fawn staffy named Molly with her dad and a tabby cat called Clover.

Natalie McMullan

Patient Care Assistant

Natalie began working within the veterinary industry when she was 16 years of age, going on to complete her degree in Animal care in Aberdeen. Natalie enjoys working within all areas of the veterinary practice but has a real passion for working with and caring for the animals. On her days off she enjoys Running and hiking.

Aine Judge

Veterinary Nurse

Aine joined the team in January 2024. Aine graduated as a Veterinary Nurse in 2022 from Plumpton College. She has a keen interested in anaesthesia, inpatient care and nurse consults. Aine has a cocker spaniel, cat and a leopard gecko at home. In her spare time Aine enjoys walking her dog, spending time with her partner and family and listening to Taylor Swift

Maia Slaine

Veterinary Nurse

Maia qualified at Edinburgh Napier university in 2024, she enjoys all aspects of her role however she has a keen interest in feline/canine diabetes and nurse consultations ! Maia has a gorgeous westie at home called Meg who would do anything for a carrot ! Outside of work you can catch her trying out new coffee shops for a good flat white or at the gym completing a hyrox class.

Erika McDermott

Practice Manager

Our practice manger Erika is a lover of all things out doors. She is regularly out on the mountains or kayaking with her dog by her side. With 25 years experience in the Veterinary industry she is on hand to support staff, client and pets alike in their journey through Medivet Lurgan.

Jodi Rooney

Patient Care Assistant

Jodi joined Medivet as a Patient Care Assistant in October 2024, after working locally in animal care and retail roles. Jodi has a degree in animal behaviour from John Moores University and having 2 dogs herself, she is a huge animal lover! Outside of work, she loves spending time with her friends and family and studying video game technology.
