Lead Veterinary Surgeon

Since joining Medivet Melbourn as Head Vet in February 2025, I’ve had the privilege of leading a fantastic team while doing what I love most—caring for animals and supporting the people who love them. I graduated from the University of Edinburgh’s Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in 2016 and later gained a postgraduate certificate in Veterinary Business Management. Over the years, I’ve developed into a bit of an all-rounder, with a passion for surgery, diagnostic imaging, ECC, and even exotics. Before moving to Melbourn, I was Head Vet at Medivet Stoke Newington, where I honed my leadership skills and learned that a happy team makes for happy patients (and happy pet parents!). At home, I have two mischievous black cats, Nobu and Shimo, who like to remind me who’s really in charge. I also have a very hungry red-footed tortoise who enjoys skateboarding around the garden—because why should the cats have all the fun? Whether it’s a routine check-up or something more complex, my goal is always to provide the best care possible while making sure every pet (and their owner) feels supported and understood. I look forward to meeting you and your furry, scaly, or feathered friends!

I qualified in 2018 and very soon after moved to the UK. I completed an internship in Avian Medicine and Surgery at the Abu Dhabi Falcon Hospital during my undergraduate studies, which I really enjoyed and later on proceeded with a master degree in Health Management and a soft tissue surgery certification, as surgery is one of my interests. I am passionate about feline medicine and this is a field of veterinary medicine I would like to focus a bit more on. Outside of work I enjoy meeting up with friends, visiting my family in Greece and generally travelling.

I was born and raised in Bristol before moving to Cambridge in 2014. I've worked at Medivet since September 2018. I'm thoroughly enjoying my time learning nursing. I've worked with animals since I was 18 in various different roles, and have a degree in Animal Biology from Nottingham Trent University. At home I have two cats. One is my lazy, old boy - Sam, who is 16. The other is my crazy noise maker - Chloe, she is 5.

I've been with the practice for several years but have been in the profession for over 30 years. I have many years experience with neonates, on many occasions keeping one or more. Outside of work I'm married with one daughter. I have too many pets to mention, but at the moment have three dogs and one cat.

Mila, my 8-month-old Rottweiler, has been coming to this practice since she was just 2 months. From the very beginning, Dr. Becky, the nurses, and the reception team have been amazing. Dr. Becky always takes the time to explain everything clearly, which I really appreciate, it helps so much when you’re worried about your pet. Today, Mila had X-rays done by Dr. Hester. She was incredibly kind and professional, taking the time to explain the entire procedure and pricing in detail. She also spent time getting to know Mila before I left her at the practice, which was very comforting. Mila is now home and doing well. I just want to say a huge thank you to the whole team, you truly go above and beyond for our animals, and it means a lot.

My experience with Medivet in Melbourn was great, apart from not allowing payment plans which meant my cat couldnt have his surgery due to insurance problems too. The women there gave me excellent advice on how to treat my cats wound as a result of not being able to have the surgery, but thw emotional stress of not having the money and surgery that my cat needed has been a lot. I know it was management and not the lovely women who have been very helpful but thats why I have only given 4 stars.
