I gained a FdSc in Marine Science and Applied Zoology in 2015 from Cornwall college Falmouth & Newquay. Before joining Medivet in 2017 I was working for a community interest company who supported pets who had been in domestic abuse situations. In my spare time I enjoy paddle boarding, travelling and walking my dogs.

I started here in 2012 as the receptionist for the Treharris branch, but moved to Merthyr in 2020. I really enjoy being in a busy practice and love getting the opportunity to watch different surgeries. Outside of work I enjoy spending time at my caravan in Tenby and going on coastal walks. I also enjoy musical theatre and going to concerts.

I visited Medivet in Merthyr Tydfil today, although I have been before. This visit was especially difficult, as I had to say goodbye to my beloved cat, and I was feeling extremely anxious beforehand. I made the mistake of reading some negative reviews, which only made me more nervous about going. However, from the moment I arrived, all of those worries disappeared. Every single member of staff — from the receptionists to the assistants and the vets — was incredibly kind, professional, and compassionate. They made such a heartbreaking experience feel as calm and supported as it possibly could be. The vet in particular (red head gentleman) was outstanding. He treated my cat, Bella with the utmost respect, dignity, and care, and showed genuine compassion throughout. It meant so much to us during such an emotional time, and I will always be grateful for the way he handled everything. Thank you to the entire team from the bottom of my heart. I wouldn’t hesitate to return and will always trust you with my pets.

The vets we've visited have always been brilliant with all 3 of our pets. My only complaint would be the door banging which seems silly but my cats and dog are a bit anxious. Slow closers on the doors would be amazing!

Medivet has been a great vets for us.
However, the vets have never been on time for any of our appointments. They’re always late, over 15 minutes at our last appointment. Longer in previous appointments. Not great when you’ve got a day full of appointments scheduled or errands to run and causes a knock on effect for your whole day.
I understand how appointments can run over. But not at 9:15am & at every single appointment. Time keeping is important and needs to be worked on here.

Service was fine although receptionists seem to be more interested in chatting and using their phones than gving their attention to the clients. The vet was very good although the price of £132 for annual boosters and a script for flea and worm tablets seems excessive. An increase of 10% over last year. Was at the practice for about 10 minutes
