Cassie Haynes

Student Veterinary Nurse and Practice Coordinator

I started at Medivet as a Patient Care Assistant in November 2021 and now I am a Student Veterinary Nurse in second year. I have an interest in dietary management for animals and am currently working alongside Royal Canin to become Mill Hill's dietary advisor. I have 4 floof babies (3 girls and 1 boy). My aim is to learn something new everyday, so you may have me popping into consultations with our lovely vet (just to gain more experience).

I graduated as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2018 through Medivet’s apprenticeship scheme and worked as a Surgical Nurse in our 24 hour hospital in Hendon. In October 2024, I took on the role of Practice Manager for Borehamwood, Temple Fortune, and Mill Hill, and I’m excited to continue supporting our patients and teams. I hate to criticise, but it is simply not the same experience since Caroline and her team of nurses left - the loving, caring, nurturing, personal touch has disappeared. I know so many who sadly feel this way and are leaving for this reason - my friends, and a lady I spoke to while waiting for my appt earlier this week are saying the same (the warmth and empathy has gone) . I would love to know if Caroline is returning after maternity - if so, I will absolutely wait for her, but if not, I would be inclined to leave, as much as it upsets me to say so. I have an affiliation to Caroline as she is outstanding and the most empathetic person. It doesn't feel like this team 'love' the animals - Caroline and her team couldn't have been nicer to both the pets and owners.

The Medivet in Mill Hill used to be good, but now it’s really bad. I will change the branch ASAP. There is no empathy and they are not organised. Customer service is really poor and unhelpful. The receptionist is very rude. My dog has a Medivet plan for many years, and it took them weeks to make the wormer medication available to pick up. On top of that, they charged me for it, even though it should have been free under the plan. I asked for a refund for the wormer panacur they charged me three months ago, and I’m still waiting. They promised the refund within two weeks, but I never received it. Every time I call to ask about the refund, there’s always an excuse — staff on holiday, or they need to ask someone else. They show no interest in sorting out the problem, no empathy, and just want to end the conversation without giving my money back, which they should never have charged in the first place. Avoid this branch at all costs. I left and I’m still having problems.

Karolina is an amazing vet and we have followed her from her old practice as she is the best!
The lady on the desk was also very nice and helpful - I think her name is Theodora.
I was so happy that Milo had a proper diagnosis after seeing a different vet in another practice who did not notice his issue. He is already a lot better with correct eye drops :)

Reception was very uninspiring - clinical with no cat ‘shelves’ or relaxing place to keep them away from dogs. Appointment started 20 mins late. Receptionist was unapologetic, distracted and absent when appointment finished and I had to wait for her to reappear in order to pay (she came in eating a chocolate so obviously that was her priority).
