We gave recently had a few visits to Witten Vets as we needed an AHC to take our dog to France. This is a complicated process but everyone has been so helpful. Katie issued the AHC and has seen us, and our dog, through this process. She has been wonderful. All the staff on the desk have been very helpful getting us the appointments at the different and specific times. Thank you very much.

Medivet Northam is a great practice. They have a lot of available appointments. The parking is easy and they are so lovely with my cat. They spend time listening to your concerns and then are happy to explain things and answer questions. The vets, vet nurses and admin staff are all lovely. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending them. This is Poppy sulking in her cat basket at Medivet!

Currently on holiday in Instow, and had to take our Labrador to Medivet Northam as he had an eye infection. From calling to make the appointment, the receptionist was delightful (sorry I forgot to ask your name), friendly and efficient. When we arrived, the practice presented itself well, clean and calm environment, with friendly reception. We had our appointment with Ashley who was true to her trade, knowledgeable, welcoming and most of all made Merlin feel very much at ease, so much so she had lots of sloppy wet kisses. Since bringing my dog to the practice for ongoing treatment for his epilepsy , allergies and ibd I can not praise them enough. Staff have always gone above and beyond for my dog and my whole family. Compassion and patience in abundance!

Lovely vets and staff and look after my dog pretty well I think and deal with insurance claims for me which is very helpful, but terrible at time keeping, never been to an appointment on time.

Your vet in Northam
The first thing you can expect when you walk through our practice doors is a friendly, familiar face. All of our staff are from the local area and we have wonderful relationships with our patients and their pets. In fact, some of our loyal visitors have told us that their companions get excited when they realise they are coming to see us-it’s not uncommon to see excited dogs pulling their owners across the carpark to get in the door!
Our Northam practice is fully equipped to deal with almost all eventualities, from routine health checks through to complicated surgical procedures and a team of dedicated, compassionate professionals who are always on hand to tend to you and your pet.

Our Out of Hours Service
Outside of our opening hours if your pet needs to be seen in an emergency please phone 01237 473278 for a call back. Our team are available for emergencies at the Northam branch until 7pm every day.
After 7pm emergencies are directed to MiNight Vets Barnstaple.

At Medivet Northam, we are proud to offer a specialised dermatology referral service since 2020, led by Eleanor Hughes, MVB BSc PhD PgC(SAD) MRCVS. Eleanor has dedicated herself to the field of dermatology. She earned her GPCert in Dermatology in 2017 and furthered her expertise by completing her PgC in Small Animal Dermatology in 2019. Recognised for her exceptional skills, Eleanor was granted Advanced Practitioner status in Small Animal Dermatology in 2021.
