Head Veterinary Nurse

I have been working for Medivet for over 18 years now. I qualified in 2006 after falling in love with the profession during some work experience. Previously, I worked at Medivet St Ives for 16 years as Head Nurse before moving to the Whittlesey practice. Living in Whittlesey for nearly all my life, I really enjoy now working here and helping all the poorly pets in the town. I enjoy all aspects of the job but in particular I like consulting and giving owners advice on pet healthcare. Outside of work, I manage a local kids football team, which I have done now for 3 years. I also enjoy fishing, socialising with friends / family and gaming. I live with my wife and 2 children. We have a working cocker spaniel called Amber, 4 chickens, 3 guinea pigs, a tortoise and a bearded dragon.

Whittlesey Vets, as they were formally known, used to be a lovely, welcoming, consistent, professional, freindly vets practice, but since Medivet bought then out n they have gotten the claws into the practice it's severly deteriotated.

6monthly (already paid for ) check. teeth and heart checked. had to ask to check ears as being a terrier my dog is into bushes and dykesides etc. Felt veterinarian's English was not as fluent as many I have seen at the practice. Next day , I received a text asking me to make my dog's 6monthly check appointment! I feel the practice as gone downhill in recent times

Reception staff not as friendly as previously and had to wait for them to converse about something without acknowledgement of me waiting which was unusual.

You don’t get the personal experience like you do from an independent vets. Also the pet plan check up isn’t as thorough, teeth wasn’t checked properly, temp wasn’t taken

Outstanding service this evening. The vets were able to see my cat within extremely short notice and provided treatments and advice which put my mind at ease. I thought the cost of the appointment and medicines was very good and I will definitely be using them again in the future.
