What is a referral?

1

Advanced veterinary advice or care is needed depending on the case

Your primary vet decides they’re not able to offer the right level of expertise, or they don’t have the appropriate facilities at the general practice.

2

Your veterinary surgeon makes a referral to our centre

Your primary vet will recommend that your pet be seen by a specialist consultant, or a vet who has undertaken additional training to provide an advanced clinical service, at a referral centre.

3

You're in safe hands with Medivet Referrals Sale

These clinicians tend to be leaders in their field of expertise, with years of experience and very advanced training.

Excellent, very efficient, was a little worried about my dogs progress after his operation, sent them a video and they got back within a couple of hours to placate us.

Cannot recommend Don and his Team highly enough. They have been welcoming, informative and caring from our very 1st consultation, right through to rehabilitation for our Labrador. An all star team and premises.

Dropped out dog off for a CT scan at 9am and didn't get her back until 6.30pm due to "nurse shortages". Given the money that the place/procedure costs, you'd expect better. Given no updates throughout the day, we repeatedly had to call for updates. Regularly told our dog was "next in the queue" but this didn't seem to be the case. All staff absolutely lovely, but clearly understaffed and you shouldn't need to leave your dog for 9/10 hours.

Took our dog with lameness to his rear legs! After CT scans MRI scans cfs tests we was told he had high levels bacteria. Was told he had GME so we was given steroids to help treat this!was also told he had a maximum of 6 months! So after a few days of steroids he wasn't getting better and was very rapidly going down hill! So we called back and we was told it maybe isn't gme but could be neoplasia (cancer) but this was after we had already been told that it was very unlikely to be cancer!!so £7000 later we still have no answer and he's worsening by the hr so we have been left with little choice to put our boy out if his misery!! All in all dogwood have not given us an indefinite answer to his issues but have triee to treat him for something they was unsure about! I feel this could of been prevented with a simple we need a second opinion from elsewhere where! Do we are putting our boy down not knowing what could of been! You might say we are looking for someone to blame but after being told Tuesday last week we had no worry towards his immediate life to then 6 days later having to make the hardest call ever!!

Don't bother going to Dogwood if you need a direct claim and you haven't already been paid for the condition by your insurance company, as they won't let you have a direct claim. However, they won't tell you this until you get there for your appointment. How many people can pay the kind of money specialists charge without a direct claim. I was absolutely livid as I'd waited over a week for the appointment, starved my dog, taken him off his pain meds and was expecting him to be seen. What a complete waste of time. We are now going elsewhere to a referral centre that won't waste my time and leave my dog in pain. The receptionist clearly didn't care my dog was suffering. I will never go there again.
