What is a referral?

Advanced veterinary advice or care is needed depending on the case
Your primary vet decides they’re not able to offer the right level of expertise, or they don’t have the appropriate facilities at the general practice.

Your veterinary surgeon makes a referral to our centre
Your primary vet will recommend that your pet be seen by a specialist consultant, or a vet who has undertaken additional training to provide an advanced clinical service, at a referral centre.

My dog has had both her TPLO surgeries at Dogwood, one in 2021 and again this September. She has recovered incredibly well and each time she was very well looked after. The follow up care from Tom and Kerry has been excellent. My dog is back to her happy (too bouncy) self, I can’t thank them enough.

Emma, the hydrotherapist, has been really supportive and provides regular advice. She is amazing with my 7 month old GSD and totally connects with him. I would trust her 100% and have total confidence in her.

The reception staff are very friendly and helpful, whether that is in person or speaking to them over the phone. Tom the Vet was a excellent. He explained everything and answered all our questions. We never felt rushed or pressured into doing anything. Only the welfare of our pet was paramount. I don't mind the appointment being or running late when your pet health is a priority for everyone. Would really recommend.

Only bit of feedback is that we think it would be useful to include on the discharge notes to contact you if the dressing gets soiled at all - perhaps Harry is unusual (!) but 50% of the time he will manage to wee on his dressing, and we assumed this was normal!
