I qualified from the University of Pretoria, in sunny South Africa, in 2015. I spent my first 3 years as a small animal vet in Cape Town working for the Government and in Private practice. I thoroughly enjoyed working close to the beach and in underprivileged communities where I assisted in sterilisation drives and basic animal health care. I moved to London in 2019 where I started my career with Medivet in the Sutton and Wimbledon branches. I joined the Roehampton team at the end of 2021. Currently I am studying a PgCert in small animal Ophthalmology and enjoy ultrasonography and surgery. I am passionate about travel and hiking with my two dogs, Pebble and Shiva, who have come all the way from South Africa with me. Music, art and dancing are some of my favourite hobbies.

Originally from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia I moved to the UK to pursue my veterinary education and graduated from the University of Bristol in 2022. Having grown up in a busy city I was particularly drawn to London by its profoundly diverse and eclectic energy. As a new addition to the Roehampton team, I feel lucky to have support from a group of incredibly capable colleagues as they help me navigate the profession as a new graduate. As a student at university I developed a particular interest in Small Animal Cardiology and have helped contribute to research clinics looking into the pathophysiology of Myxomatous Mitral Valve disease in dogs. I hope to one day further my studies in this area, but at the moment am content with getting the hang of general practice. In my free time one would find me either in the kitchen cooking up a storm or exploring one of London's many food markets and culinary gems.

I've been a veterinary nurse for more than 20 years. I joined the Roehampton team in 2010 and have subsequently gained a lot of experience in orthopaedic surgical nursing. I've active in charity work; having worked for three years at an animal rehabilitation centre in Thailand, which I visit and volunteer for every year in my holidays. I also have experience with wildlife, I volunteered in Borneo at an orangutan rehabilitation centre and worked with crocodiles and sun bears. At home I have two rescue bearded dragons, Miss Piggy and Kermit. I also have five cats, one of which I rescued and adopted at only 10 days old, called Pork Pie.

I was brought up between Sweden and Finland and my life has always centred around my love for animals. Working in a stables from a young age, my passion of caring for all creatures, great and small has led me to Medivet Roehampton. I strive to give our patients the best possible stay, no matter how long, so the pets will always feel calm, happy, and in the best hands. To me my job is my hobby and my passion. I'm working toward my goal of becoming a Veterinary Nurse to further my career in caring for our lovely animal friends. I am also the proud owner of the most beautiful cocker spaniel cross labrador.

Having been raised in the Philippines with my grandma until I was 4 years old, I was taught from a young age how to care for animals and have always treated them as a family member. This created a deep seated passion for caring for animals and ensuring their wellbeing. After I moved to England, I continued that passion for animals continued with constant trips to the Natural History Museum, London Zoo and after obtaining as many animal books as possible. As I reached 16, I urged my parents to get a puppy as I knew I was responsible enough to look after another living being. We now have 3 dogs, 1 cat and 2 tanks of fishes at home.

I joined the practice in September this year after taking a year out in Cape Town, where I was working as a professional freelance photographer. As an avid wildlife lover, I was also fortunate to spend time visiting some of the exceptional game farms in South Africa, meeting two gorgeous baby rhinos being a special highlight. Before returning to the UK, I also visited Bermuda where I had the opportunity to swim with dolphins in the ocean at the Bermuda Dolphin Conservation Quest Centre, a magical experience and enlightening to learn more about the fascinating marine work they do to study and protect the species. I used to share my life with my adorable Border Terrier and two magnificent cats, however, working for Medivet has provided the much-needed fix of cuddles and interaction with all the wonderful pets in the reception waiting area, until I find the right moment to adopt a new family member! I'm also a qualified Personal Trainer, and have been teaching exercise classes since my early 20's, during which time I worked as an Area Manager for Holmes Place Health Clubs. I also have a passion for Argentine Tango and travelling to Italy.

We sent our beloved Ragdoll cat there for what was supposed to be a belly fur cut with a minimal trimming fur cut as needed and got back essentially a sphinx cat with pom-poms who "was distressed". We ended up in tears as well... NO notice, NO asking for our permission beforehand and NOT even a warning afterwards or an explanation. When I called to complain they said that thought it had to be done and it was a judgement call while she was under but surely someone from reception could have called in the meantime. Now we have a frightened, naked and freezing cat, whilst hoping the fur grows back as normal as possible by feeding her extra supplements and got charged a fortune for something we did not ask for. Heard Medivet has been worsening but this a new low. Will not go back again and not uploading pictures because they are too distressful. @Medivet - no need to answer me as there is nothing you can to to make this right. The damage is done.

Sadly we didn’t quite realize that the practice previously owned by the long standing, trustworthy Vet had been sold to a ruthless company. The charges now are absolutely obnoxious, unjustified and unethical. There was a clear taking advantage of someone terrified for their pet, that was very sick, potentially life threatening, and thus with no much choice at that moment. But what was charged for a few days of care is nothing short of outrageous. We have then checked with other practices and for the same treatment anyone else would have charged half or less of the amount. It was a very unfortunate series of circumstances, and undoubtedly we will never use Medivet again. Nevertheless the approach remains outrageous. I would very strongly recommend to go elsewhere. And we are exploring avenues to report what we ultimately deem as malpractice. UPDATE 22/09 - I have contacted the practice at the address suggested below in their response, and after a month of course no acknowledgment and no reply. Hence clearly the response below was for ‘show’, not genuine, and once more unprofessional. Which just strengthens the above feedback.

Very good experience for a horrible situation having to put down our cat. Matt the vet is fantastic, we saw him at Medivet Richmond where his care and style was fantastic. When we realised we’d come to the end of the road with treatment we wanted to see Matt again who is based at Roehampton. Once again, he made us feel at ease in awful circumstances. The nurse was lovely too and even bottled our cat’s fur and made paw prints for us to keep. Very thoughtful and would recommend to all. Thank you for looking after us and our cat in her final moments. 🩵

CAUTION! Medivet are not who they used to be. They were sold to a private equity firm (CVC Capital Partners) in 2021, and since then, we saw our dog's care pricing get vastly more opaque as they try to squeeze pet owners. The nurses and care itself is of a similar quality, but we found ourselves paying wildly out of market prices for basic medicines/ treatments for our dog. Cannot recommend highly enough Pet People (East Sheen), where the care is second to none, and we are charged fairly and transparently.
