I graduated from the Royal Veterinary College London (RVC) in 2019 and joined the Wantage team permanently in March 2021. I have a particular passion for surgery. Outside of work, I enjoy attending rock concerts, theatre shows and cinema screenings. I also play guitar, am a member of a choir and like to unwind by reading, cooking and bullet journaling. I have a tabby and white cat named Lennon, who first arrived at the practice as a stray and needed surgery to fix his dislocated hip. He’s made an excellent recovery and has been keeping my partner Chris and I on our toes ever since!

After a slightly varied career, I began working for Day and Partners (which very shortly changed to Danetree Veterinary Surgeons) in 1995. I qualified as a veterinary nurse from Berkshire College of Agriculture in 1998. I left Danetree in 2001 and took two years out on maternity leave, returning as a part-time receptionist in 2003. In practice I deal with all the insurance claims so you'll usually find me surrounded by a pile of paper work!

I feel this particular practice is (mostly) financially motivated when deciding what treatment to offer for your pets, and suggest test after test. I feel they are caring and maybe they're used to money being no object, or maybe they get bonuses for prescriptions and treatments sold, but I always feel ripped off in some way and that some of the suggested treatments are possibly not necessary. My new vet is very different and I'm so happy I've changed. Other people I know who have also moved from this practice said the same thing and felt that if your pet is insured for £4,000, the bill will be around £4,000; if your pet is insured for around £7,000, your bill will be around that, which is suspicious. Also note, please, that you can get medicines so much cheaper at online pet pharmacies with a prescription from the vet but they won't tell you that. Obviously it's a business, but it's useful to know that they are not the only option when you're facing a bill for long terms medicines.

I have a pet care plan and get 6 monthly check ups and flea/worm treatment, it's always easy to book the appointments, I get email reminders and availability of appointments has always been good. My cat is always treated with care and kindness and any worries I might have had are looked at at no additional cost. Staff are friendly and helpful. Only reason for 4 stars is that I've not used any emergency care or additional care outside of normal check ups and vaccinations.

Bailey our Jack Russell Terrier who had Stage 6 heart disease had become really unwell and was having trouble breathing and was very frightened, her tongue and gums had turned blue. We had been with Abivale vets since she was a puppy but when we rang them to have her put to sleep they couldn't fit her in, we would have to go to Abingdon and Bailey hated car journeys. We rang Medivet and they were so accommodating. We took her down and had her put to sleep, all the staff were lovely and caring and made things as easy as possible, we were distraught of course but we were so happy we took her to Medivet ,thank you so much.

I can not thank the team at Medivet enough. The care they provide to animals is next to none. Most recently my incredibly nervous girl Bella being spayed, they're incredibly patient and caring and support you and your pet throughout the process before, during and after the procedure. The pet health care plan is incredibly good value and is a reassuring way to cover the needs of your pet. Thank you to the team for your hard work and dedication 🙏 💕

Medivet Wantage is a caring and friendly veterinary practice that I have used for many years. Each time I have visited, I haven't been able to fault the practice. They take time to chat things through with me whilst in a consultation and offer a really good pet care plan.

*Based on average saving for dogs and cats on the Medivet Healthcare Plan over a 12 month period at this practice. This saving excludes the additional savings benefits that are available to these pets on plan (e.g. 15% off dental procedures & 10% off vet care and medication and some food). Prices correct February 2024.
