Dimitrios Sarris

Lead Veterinary Surgeon

I am originally from the beautiful Island of Crete, Greece and I qualified from the University of Thessaly as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM). I had been working as a veterinary nurse for many years before I sat for Veterinary Medicine University entrance exams and made my dream of becoming a veterinary surgeon come true. As soon as I finished my studies I came to the UK, where I was very lucky to find great people to work with, who share the same enthusiasm and love for animals. With their help and mentoring, I found my two biggest loves, surgery and cardiology. I started my postgraduate certificate in small animal Cardiology last May. I am married to the love of my life and I have two beautiful daughters. In my free time, I enjoy playing board games with my family and spending time with them.

Head Veterinary Nurse

I first started at Yateley as a Receptionist in 2004 before moving to the Wokingham practice as a Student Veterinary Nurse. I then completed my training in 2009 and worked as a Head Nurse at Wokingham before going on maternity leave. I then eventually returned to Yateley in 2014 as a part-time Registered Veterinary Nurse. At home, I’m kept busy by my six-year-old daughter and my two cats, Chloe and George.

Services we offer

With our 15-minute consultations, you have enough time to ask our expert vets any - and every - question you might have regarding your pet’s health and lifestyle.

Our Computed Tomography (CT) technology allows us to create detailed 3D images of your pet to help diagnoses and create effective treatment plans.

Caring for all aspects of your pet’s oral health is easy with our excellent dental facilities.

An electrocardiogram (ECG) is a simple, non-invasive test used to detect certain defects in your pet’s heart.

Using a tiny, flexible camera, we’re able to view internal body parts with little surgical intervention.

We know that sometimes it just isn’t possible for you or your pet to travel into one of our practices to receive care. At times like this, our capable and compassionate veterinary teams often offer at home visits.

Quick and efficient testing at our state-of-the-art in-house laboratories is just one aspect of the exceptional care we offer.

We use cutting-edge Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanners to help us diagnose a range of problems.

Our specialist orthopaedic theatres mean we can confidently treat conditions that affect your pet’s musculoskeletal system.

Your local Medivet practice will be able to issue an Animal Health Certificate for EU travel.

A pet ultrasound is a non-invasive imaging technique used to view your pet's internal organs and identify potential issues.

Vet Blood Supplies is part of the Medivet community, and together we work to save the lives of dogs across the country.

We use x-ray machines to quickly diagnose issues that might affect your pet.
