I graduated from London’s Royal Veterinary College in 2006 and have worked at the practice since 2008. My clinical interests are in orthopaedic surgeries and wound management. I spend my spare time with my children. I have a cat named Keith who is the ‘boss’.

Maegan Hester

Veterinary Surgeon

I've been working in the veterinary field for over 15 years. During this time I graduated as a vet in 2020. I joined Medivet in 2021, where I currently split my time between the Uppermill branch and Ashton 24 hours.

Umay Altunyurt

Veterinary Surgeon

Umay graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Ankara University in Turkey in 2022. While studying at the faculty, she completed multiple internships at different clinics. After graduation, she joined the Medivet 24 Hour Ashton team. She also has a cat named Felis.

Daniela Popa

Veterinary Surgeon

I graduated with a degree in Veterinary Medicine in 2004 and a Small Animals Surgery Master degree in 2009 from USAMV Bucharest, Romania. I have special interest in traumatology and orthopaedic surgeries. I am also a mum of two children, three cats, one dog and I love adventures, working in the garden and riding my motorbike.

Matija Mesko

Veterinary Surgeon

Matija has worked at a number of large multi-disciplinary referral centres, completing internships and most recently gaining his GP certificate in small animal surgery – GP Cert (SAS). He has always had a keen interest in soft tissue surgery and has joined the Medivet 24 Hour Ashton team to expand our in-house surgical abilities.

My name is Steph, I am an Registered Veterinary Nurse at Medivet. I have worked here since 2016. I enjoy all aspects of my job especially meeting all your lovely pets.

Samantha Taylor

Student Veterinary Nurse

Sammy’s a second year Student Veterinary Nurse (SVN) , she has worked at the practice for around five years. Sammy has three horses and a dog. She also has four daughters that she loves spending time with at the weekend, either at the farm, or watching them play football.

Amy Davies

Head Veterinary Nurse

Amy has worked at a number of 24 hour hospitals around Manchester as well as in referral practice as a diagnostics nurse which involved investigations and procedures for multi-disciplinary services. Her main work interests are Diagnostic Imaging and Feline Internal Medicine. Outside of work, her time is mainly spent with her little boy Alby. She is cat obsessed, owning three cats herself as well as fostering injured cats that need rehabilitating before rehoming.

Gail McKeown

Client Care Assistant

I enjoy all aspects of client care at the practice. In my spare time I enjoy walking on the moors with our five dogs and listening to live music.
