Medivet 24 Hour Dartford

We took our 12 year old Maltese to Medivet yesterday at 3am due to him having seizures. The vet didn't even talk to him,let alone comfort him! After shoving a thermometer in his bottom and checking his chest, she gave me 2 options. Option 1: leave him there for 2 nights observation where they'll do a blood test and an ultrasound @ £2700. Option 2: One night's stay with blood tests @ £1800! I asked if there was any medication I could give him until I got him to my own vet that morning. She said no because she needed to take a blood sample to establish the dosage! I knew this was utter rubbish as its down to the dogs weight. A huge red flag! I informed her that I would observe him myself until I got to my vets literally 5 hours later,which is when she offered the medication she earlier said she couldn't give me without taking a blood sample! I couldn't get out of there quick enough and asked to pay the £150 consultation fee which is when she said i needed to sign a disclosure! Basically, it said that by refusing their advice,I acknowledge that I would be subjecting my dog to suffering/pain/possible death!!! I was so disgusted! It then went on to say that they have the right to involve the RSPCA with the possibility of having the dog removed!!!!!! I couldn't believe what i was reading!I refused to sign it! This vets is just money a grabber! They are not professional and dont care about the animals; only care about ripping people off! I took him to my vet, Pet Care in Bexley Road at 8:30am They are AMAZING! So passionate and caring. And they dont rip you off! I was offered to do a blood test @ £180 and received the results within an hour. He's been put on anti seizure meds for 2 weeks. Thankfully, he's not had any more seizures. Why was i not offered this option at Medivets?? Why did she change her mind about the medication she previously said she couldn't give me without taking blood samples?? Why the disgusting disclosure??? The answer is to get as much money as they can and if that doesn't work,theyll try to threaten you to pay them! I am DISGUSTED! Avoid like the plague

It was a emergency appointment for our cat with a injured back leg, whic was already infected and a cat could hardly walk. But after assessment, first aid was given, as well medication, 2 days later cat is like new! Very professional practice, receptionist very professional. 5*

A Huge Thank You to the Amazing Team Who Helped Oscar! I can't thank the team enough for their incredible care this morning when I rushed my cat, Oscar, in after he sustained a very bad and deep cut on his paw outside. From the moment I called, Lisa the receptionist was absolutely fantastic—so calm, reassuring, and helpful. She made a truly stressful situation so much easier. And to Dr. Malcolm, who came all the way from Bournemouth, words can't express my gratitude. He was incredibly kind, professional, and clearly passionate about animals. He handled Oscar's severe injury with such gentleness and expertise, explaining every step of the treatment clearly. Thanks to their quick actions and skilled care, Oscar is now recovering well at home, which is a huge relief considering how serious the cut was. It's clear that everyone at the practice genuinely cares. I highly recommend them to any pet owner. You truly are the best! 🐾
