I grew up in the wilds of Yorkshire, reading James Herriot and Richard Adams, so it seemed only natural that I became a vet. After a few years, I realised cats and dogs were a lot less muddy than farms and cows, so I moved across to small animals and now I’m part of the amazing hospital team in Poole. When not at work you'll find me curled up with my cats or being the proud mum to my cheeky teenager.

Hi, I'm Adele and I work on the night team covering out of hours and emergencies. When I'm not at work, I am kept busy with my menagerie of two dogs, two horses, a tortoise and eight ferrets. I'm soon to rehome a feral cat too. As well as this, I'm studying for a canine and equine physiotherapy degree which will help our patients while staying overnight.

My name is Donna and I am part of the emergency team. I have been a been a veterinary nurse for a really long time. It is the best and sometimes hardest job in the world! And I love it! My own cat was really poorly last year and the brilliant team @ Poole 24hr looked after us both and nursed him back to health.

I have been part of Medivet for 4 years, starting as a mobile PCA before training to become a student veterinary nurse. My favourite part of my job is looking after the inpatients so they are happy, healthy and ready to go home. At home I have 2 dogs called Poppy and Lottie as well as 4 rabbits (Benji, Evie, Teddy and Dotty). When not at work, I like spending time with my pets, diamond painting and playing games.

I'm Sian i love all animals shape and sizes and looked after many whilst living in spain for 12years. I currently have a cat called daisy-doo and my 2 axolotls, light fury and toothless. My role is a twilight patience care assistant, assisting the nurse and vets treat the poorly animals whilst assessing emergencies over the phone and talking to worried owners is the main part. Look at becoming a nurse in the future.

I'm a Registered Veterinary Nurse, I've only be qualified a year and a half, so still feel I'm learning everday. I've wanted to work in the veterinary field since I was 7 years old when we used to take my old cat to the vets. My favourite part of the job is when we care for a long term inpatient and every day we see them get slightly better until they are ready to go home. I've got a beautiful ginger cat at home called Biscuit, he is a stray I adopted from work. In my spare time, I hang out with friends and family, watch movies and play with Biscuit

The vets and reception staff here are always friendly and helpful and really seem to care about the animals, not just there to try and get as much money out of people as they can like some others who take advantage. I've only had one instance where one of the reception ladies was quite rude. But other than that I've always had great experiences here. I have previously had very bad experiences with other vets but medivet have always been great and have event my trust over the years

First time normal hours visit to Medivet in North Road and met the vet Kate. This was amazing, no throwing prices at me, no saying they didn't know what was wrong without imaging/scans. She is getting older, sedation for imaging isn't sensible health-wise. Kate prescribed treatment for the symptoms and a simple blood test. Cost less than any investigations suggested by another vet. Her problem has been ongoing since April and I just didn't want to go back to other vet and I am glad I didn't. Thank you Kate, after a couple of days she is more settled already and even had a spring in her step.

After my cat was admitted to the emergency out of hours clinic on a Friday evening with breathing difficulties... I am so glad that the team, especially Miguel, exhausted every possible option over the weekend in order to finally found out via endoscopy that my cat had somehow gotten grass stuck at the bottom of his trachea. The Vet managed to extract it carefully in one go, thereby saving Obi's life! Whilst it was an expensive and traumatising ordeal for both Obi and I, (luckily I was insured for 75% of the bill) - all in all it is priceless to have my cat back! The team were very thorough and caring and the after care was great which included 2 post op visits where they checked Obi's recovery and that his post op meds were working. Thanks all!! He is now back ruling the roost at home!

I cannot praise and thank them enough. My Bullmastiff fell ill and I needed him seen on a Sunday. The out of hours team for my vet just told me to make an appointment the next day. I asked Medivet if they would see him and they said they wouldn't turn any animal away. Turns out that his heart rate was twice what it should have been and his temperature was near heat stroke stage at 39.8. They had him stabilised within a couple of hours and he is now home after one night with them. Bill was less than the estimated costs. Thanks to them he is still with us as he probably wouldn't have made it at his age, if I had listened to the other emergency vets. Thank you so much from Allison and Thor Burgess.

Our beloved beagle poppy passed away in front of us on Sun, totally heart broken and although she had been poorly, we thought she was turning a corner. We were directed to Medivet as they offer out of hours support and our vets was closed. We took Poppy across and was treated with such kindness and compassion shown by the lady who dealt with us through this traumatic experience (Apologies I didn't catch your name). It was a difficult decision to leave our precious girl with you, but felt assured we had left her in safe hands. Thank you for allowing us time to say goodbye and also taking the time to discuss options for her. πŸŒˆπŸΎπŸ’”

I could not feel safer knowing that the staff at medivet look after my boy. They call me and they let me chat about him when he is in their care even if I'm off topic. He's been admitted 3 times and every time I call they get me in without any issues. I only moved to the area in October 2024. I have a dog who is register with a different vet and I'm going to move her to medivet as they truly are amazing. Thank you
