I grew up in the wilds of Yorkshire, reading James Herriot and Richard Adams, so it seemed only natural that I became a vet. After a few years, I realised cats and dogs were a lot less muddy than farms and cows, so I moved across to small animals and now I’m part of the amazing hospital team in Poole. When not at work you'll find me curled up with my cats or being the proud mum to my cheeky teenager.

Hi, I'm Adele and I work on the night team covering out of hours and emergencies. When I'm not at work, I am kept busy with my menagerie of two dogs, two horses, a tortoise and eight ferrets. I'm soon to rehome a feral cat too. As well as this, I'm studying for a canine and equine physiotherapy degree which will help our patients while staying overnight.

My name is Donna and I am part of the emergency team. I have been a been a veterinary nurse for a really long time. It is the best and sometimes hardest job in the world! And I love it! My own cat was really poorly last year and the brilliant team @ Poole 24hr looked after us both and nursed him back to health.

I have been part of Medivet for 4 years, starting as a mobile PCA before training to become a student veterinary nurse. My favourite part of my job is looking after the inpatients so they are happy, healthy and ready to go home. At home I have 2 dogs called Poppy and Lottie as well as 4 rabbits (Benji, Evie, Teddy and Dotty). When not at work, I like spending time with my pets, diamond painting and playing games.

I'm Sian i love all animals shape and sizes and looked after many whilst living in spain for 12years. I currently have a cat called daisy-doo and my 2 axolotls, light fury and toothless. My role is a twilight patience care assistant, assisting the nurse and vets treat the poorly animals whilst assessing emergencies over the phone and talking to worried owners is the main part. Look at becoming a nurse in the future.

I'm a Registered Veterinary Nurse, I've only be qualified a year and a half, so still feel I'm learning everday. I've wanted to work in the veterinary field since I was 7 years old when we used to take my old cat to the vets. My favourite part of the job is when we care for a long term inpatient and every day we see them get slightly better until they are ready to go home. I've got a beautiful ginger cat at home called Biscuit, he is a stray I adopted from work. In my spare time, I hang out with friends and family, watch movies and play with Biscuit

Our beloved beagle poppy passed away in front of us on Sun, totally heart broken and although she had been poorly, we thought she was turning a corner. We were directed to Medivet as they offer out of hours support and our vets was closed. We took Poppy across and was treated with such kindness and compassion shown by the lady who dealt with us through this traumatic experience (Apologies I didn't catch your name). It was a difficult decision to leave our precious girl with you, but felt assured we had left her in safe hands. Thank you for allowing us time to say goodbye and also taking the time to discuss options for her. 🌈🐾💔

I could not feel safer knowing that the staff at medivet look after my boy. They call me and they let me chat about him when he is in their care even if I'm off topic. He's been admitted 3 times and every time I call they get me in without any issues. I only moved to the area in October 2024. I have a dog who is register with a different vet and I'm going to move her to medivet as they truly are amazing. Thank you

After about a month of treatment, our beloved dog was sadly euthanised at this vet's yesterday. We were happy with the service we received throughout the month and the way our dog was treated by the many vets he saw. We were offered the option to euthanise much earlier than we did, and it was right for the vet to give us this choice. However, we choose to try every possible treatment we could before having our dog euthanised only when it was clear to he could not go on. Thank you to all the vets and staff for your expert treatment and kindness and consideration at a difficult time.

I’m writing this with a broken heart. My 3-year-old cat, Mochi, passed away after suffering from a bladder blockage — a condition that should have been treatable if only he had received proper care. We first took him to Medivet, where he was catheterised not once, but twice. After the second catheter, they sent him home again while he was still clearly unwell — no real recovery, no proper monitoring, no solid aftercare instructions. It felt like all they cared about was payment, not Mochi’s life. As his condition worsened, we rushed him to Vets Now. It was an emergency, and I was desperate to help him. But the consultation was free, and it felt like they didn’t even want to try. They barely examined him, didn’t attempt any form of treatment, and within minutes were already advising euthanasia — saying it was the “most cost-effective” option. I was grieving, scared, overwhelmed… and trusted that they knew best. So, in a sterile, rushed moment, my beautiful boy was put to sleep — not because there were no other options, but because no one wanted to fight for him. In total, I spent nearly £2000 for this. For failed procedures, careless advice, and a heartbreaking ending. Mochi was let down by both Medivet and Vets Now. He died not from the condition, but from how it was mishandled. He was so full of love, sweetness, and life. He trusted me to keep him safe. And I’ll carry the pain of that night forever. Please — if your pet is ever in crisis, don’t trust blindly. Ask questions. Get second opinions. And never assume these clinics will act in your pet’s best interest. Sometimes, they simply don’t.

Wonderful care and expertise for my dog who had gastrointestinal problems over the BH weekend. My vet (Natterjacks) uses “Vets Now” as their out of hours provider but I would only use this practice as they’ve been wonderful in the past and the same again today. Very reasonably priced too but most importantly the staff care and have expert knowledge.
