Lead Veterinary Surgeon

Hi, I’m Sarah and I’m one of the vets here at Medivet Biggleswade since the early summer of 2025. I take great pleasure in meeting you and working towards our common goal of keeping your pets happy and healthy. I believe that high quality, compassionate veterinary care should be accessible and flexible to meet your needs. In my downtime, I get a kick out of playing ice hockey, cycling (for vegan cake, of course!), and fussing over my cheeky yet affectionate 1-year old cat, Mirielle. If we haven’t already met, I look forward to seeing you and hearing all about your pet(s) at your next visit!

I graduated from Liverpool University in 2005, I started working in mixed practice in Cambridgeshire before moving to small animal practice. I worked in a small practice in Surrey for 14 years before moving back to Cambridgeshire, I have been at Medivet Biggleswade since February 2025. Outside of work I enjoy sewing, crochet and looking after my two daughters and our dog Bodhi.

Head Veterinary Nurse

Hi, I’m Cara. I am a nearly qualified Registered Vet Nurse at Medivet Biggleswade and have been with Medivet since 2020. In practice I love to make our companion animals happy and safe whilst they are in branch as well as assisting with their surgeries. I hope to pursue my nursing further in the future to work in zoos and on conservation projects. When I am not at work, I like to go to gigs and adventures with my dog, then come home to cuddle up with my many cats.

I started in veterinary in November 2021 and can now truly appreciate the hard work and dedication this career path requires. Outside of work, I enjoy the gym and most things sporty, or going to gigs and festivals with friends. I’ve had cats throughout my life and Siberian huskies as dogs. I love meeting and treating everyone’s beautiful fur babies and strive to give them the best experiences while here that I can.

The receptionist was so kind and listened
to my concerns.
The vet also listened to my concerns and had such a way at putting my cat at ease so she also had a good experience at the vets.

Called them almost as they were shutting as my dog had sustained a skin flap tear to her flank. They agreed to stay until I got there to examine her. When they saw that it was quite extensive they then stayed even longer to sedate her and stitch it up.
They went above and beyond what they had to do as they could have said they were closing and to go to the out of hours

As my dog is reactive to other dogs abd crowded spaces they put us on the side room and once finished we were escorted out the back to avoid other dogs in the waiting room.

The vet we saw - Helin - was extremely thorough and checked our cat over completely. She was friendly and understanding, she listened to any concerns we had about our cat and offered advice and solutions. She also emailed us after the appointment to recommend a treatment. We were very happy with our experience with all the staff we encountered.
The only negative aspect of our experience was our appointment time. We were booked for 10am, however we weren’t seen until gone 10.30. Baring in mind I had to put my cat in her carrier at 9.30 to get her to the vets for 10am and we didn’t leave the vets until 11am meant she was in her carrier for longer than is comfortable for her. I understand things happen and this can impact appointment times, however we had similar experience at our previous appointment. Also, people who came in after were seen before us. I think it is well known that coming to the vets is stressful for an animal, I think this needs looking into to avoid this happening again.
