I graduated as a Veterinary Surgeon in Portugal 16 years ago and have been living in the UK for 10 years, initially working as a companion animal vet while finishing my PhD at Cardiff University. I joined the team at Medivet Llandaff North as a Partner in December 2020. Since arriving in the UK, I've worked in multiple roles as an emergency vet and have been a Clinical Director and Senior Clinical Director. I have a keen interest in emergency surgery, avian and wildlife medicine.

a lot of mistakes on my cat's notes following illness. He had covid on the 17/01/2026 and the vet linked it to food intolerance on the 20/12/2025 which meant that I lost £1,016 in vet fees from my insurance who denied the claim. I will report the matter to Ombusdman as this is malpractice. I was treated very badly during the appointment. I have ASD and ADHD, I was told that if I didn't want to pay the bill, then my kitten would have to be put down. When my mother organised for the PDSA to take on his care, I then was told that the fees would be covered by the insurance and that Medivets would make a direct claim, my mum was asked to pay the excess. Medivets then refused to make the claim themselves and denied that this conversation ever took place. The notes were so bad that the claim was denied. If this is not resolved then not only I will make a formal complaint, report this to the Ombusdman and the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons but also change Vets. My mum has 1 dog and 2 cats with Medivets and she will also change vets.

Easy to book appointment. Reception staff very helpful. Vet was very thorough & explained her procedures & prescribed medication to us.

After a sudden decline of health for our very old Staffy girl Mia left us totally devastated and needing to get her here quickly. After a distressing conversation with a vet nurse we were given a time soon after, after they made a slight adjustment to their appointments. We arrived distraught knowing our Beautiful girl would not return home with us. Us both and Mia were shown compassion, understanding and time and they were so gentle with her. We felt the love and dedication the nurses have to work with animals and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all that you do. We Can't wait to have her back home again, while her spirit flys high in a pain free warm sunny meadow. 💔

Appointments now offered on a Saturday and Sunday making life much easier for me. The vet was very knowledgable and easy to talk too gave great advice about my senior dog and pointed me in the right direction to treat successfully with ear wash.

The vet nurse we saw was very knowledgable and gave us good advice to help reduce the weight of our one cat who is a little overweight - the other 2 are a healthy weight. Receptionist was very friendly too and there was a lovely atmosphere at the practice.

My appt was at 10 am . The vet I was seeing arrived at the practice at 10.10 am. Then kept me waiting another 10to15 mins
