Unfortunately, we didn't have the best experience here, so we ended up switching vets to one that was slightly further away. There is no parking aside from street parking, which is always super busy. They also close at 6pm and are closed on Fridays and the weekend, which was inconvenient for me and my partner. My cat suffers with gastrointestinal problems. Every consultation we had with a vet it seemed they would just brush us off with the simplest solution they could provide. This went on for a few months, until they offered to run a faeces test. I collected 3 days worth of faeces as instructed and dropped this off at the reception. I then got a call a few days later from a very apologetic receptionist stating the samples never got sent off to the lab, so I will have to collect more faeces samples. I appreciate mistakes happen so I provided these. A few weeks later, I received a text message to say the tests came back negative, and that was it. I didn't get a copy of the results until I asked, and they never contacted me to investigate further what the issue was with my cat. Due to this, I ended up switching vets, who managed to resolve my cat's issues within one appointment. However, on a positive note, the receptionist was always super friendly and tried to be as helpful as she could.

Very reasonably priced, knowledgeable and care a lot about your pets. I’ve always been able to get an appointment and even at short notice. Can’t fault them and very happy with the service!

After my boy needed treatment, soonest was in st helens, after being vastly over quoted i was in despair. I went to newton, i was sceptical as dealt with vet after vet via phone after claire left, as she was so brilliant and been with her since moblie, now my boy is so difficult he has never been examined so my nerves were bad. Olivia not only did my a very fair price she handled my boy brilliantly , patience, understanding, even allowing him to be put in the car right after his operation as to not put more stress on him and you know he has fear aggression that's off the charts. She has been a star from start to finish, given she had big claire shoes to fill, she is an asset to this practice and the pets that need care. Am really glad she is now the permanent vet eases my mind that fluke is in very excellent hands, also a shout out to the receptionists, you are wonderful Thank you all from the bottom of my doggy heart.

I just wanted to make this review to let everyone with a pet know how brilliant this vet practice is!. From the first phone call to every interaction since with both the vet and receptionist has been exceptional. I have a very nervous dog that hates going outside and they have gone above and beyond taking time to help her love going to see them and give her lots of cuddles and affection. She has just had her spaying procedure done and they kept me informed every step and where you find some vets are more concerned with how and when they will get money I can honestly say it was the last thing with this vets they was more focused on my pup and making sure she and I was ok. Can’t thank them enough!. They have definitely restored my faith in vets as previous vets over the years have been appalling. Thank you!.

Things seem to have changed a lot following the sale to Medivet and not for the better. This picture shows how many times I called the practice today - during normal opening hours - without getting any reply. 29 times! I was quite worried about my 12yo dog and so ended up doing a 1.5 hour round trip to a different practice, which completely defeats the purpose of being registered with our local vet on Newton High Street.

Ive come on here today to express my appreciation and gratitude to the wonderful receptionist Emily. She has shown nothing but compassion and love for all our pets, even the ones shes never met but knows about (my 21 y/o poorly cat) she asks how they are. She is an incredible asset to this business, learns everyones pets and knows their owners just by their voices and names. Absolutely outstanding. I can’t recommend this vets enough purely for the service we receive here. Thank you, Emily ❤️
