The Good: Vet was very knowledgeable, physically gentle with, and made a real effort to create a 'working relationship' with our puppies. Staff appeared friendly & professional. The nurses really put in an immense amount of effort ensuring they not only knew the dogs well, but also the family. In particular, I was impressed with the vet Gillian, & a nurse called 'Phoebe'-- they really did make all the difference, but sadly not enough to have stayed with the practice. The Bad: Soured Relationship They have a strange method of attempting to exert immense pressure on their client to use their preferred surgeons if you're unlucky enough to need one-- a place called 'The Willows', which is seriously Extortionately PRICED & owned by the Mars Company-- (yes, the food company that makes 'Mars bars'), so even when telling medivet 'no', I don't want to/can't afford to pay over & above just because the Willows have a TV programme & are YOUR PREFERENCE, I was STILL met with intense pressure, & an eventual dismissive tone by Medivet Oadby. Even after saying no, they continued to persuade me to go with a place I COULD NOT AFFORD. MEDIVET OADBY REFUSED TO OFFER AN ALTERNATIVE, saying we were fortunate to have been approached by the Willows, who wanted to follow 'our story' for the show. Briefly, they wanted to 'follow our story' because it would make for excellent tear jerker TV ratings to see the angst of an 8 year old autistic child & his care dog who must face bilateral total hip replacements. I felt it was exploitive & wanted nothing to do with it. The Ugly: Failed Duty of Care & outright Negligence We chose instead to follow our instincts & go with MEDIVET East Midlands Referrals, which Medivet Oadby outright stated 'we don't know them, and we don't trust them", our relationship with Medivet Oadby became outright untenable. I was APPALLED at the lack of professional courtesy on Medivet Oadby's part toward a 'sister practice'. It was at this point when things really deteriorated; our girl ended up getting a post op infection, and despite MEDIVET East Midlands Referrals putting through a prescription for antibiotics straight away, Medivet Oadby dragged their heels about filling it, delaying our son's care dog timely care, despite being well established clients who were also paying for their Medivet Insurance as well. In the end MEDIVET East Midlands Referrals got a different Medivet (that didn't know us) to fill the prescription when we could not get it from Medivet Oadby. Their behaviour was completely unnecessary and negligent. Conclusion : In the end I wrote a letter of complaint, but no one at Medivet Oadby took it seriously; the nurse overseeing it fobbed the entire matter off, & protected her work colleagues (as was expected). After seeing how lacking they could be in their duty of care and how quickly they could turn on our family because we defied their demand to go with the Willows (£6,500.00 MORE than Medivet East Midlands Referrals) I knew we had to move our dogs immediately. For our part, we moved all 3 dogs to a completely different vet, and we are happy to say that our boy's little girl has very successfully had her second complete hip replacement again with the brilliant & very talented Graham Oliver over at MEDIVET East Midlands Referrals. Just to be clear, Medivet East Midlands Referrals wasn't cheap, but they were 'in line' with other surgeons; we are ecstatic with the outcome & feel that we could not have been treated better by Graham & his team of dedicated & hard working professionals over at MEDIVET East Midlands Referrals. Final thought: If you don't mind a company exploiting your known vulnerabilities (disabled child's care dog needs double hip replacement/ can I afford it with 1 household income? He can't live without her/What do we do?) at an immensely stressful time in your life, whilst also dictating where you will go & what you will pay (& it will be nearly DOUBLE the cost compared to elsewhere), then Medivet Oadby is perfect for you!

I just recently inherited an 18 year old cat that has always been registered with Medivet Oadby. They have all her details including her birthday!! which is nice. They were super efficient in transferring her over to my name, helped with with all my queries and concerns at being a new "mum" to an old cat, including advice on her medication process and other support. Super easy to access to the clinic. I was seen earlier than my appointment, so it was very efficient and the staff are very sweet and friendly. Feel very relaxed and comfortable there for my pet.

Zion was in for castration on 14/6/24. Because of all the stigma about XL bullies I was very nervous for our boy on the day. We arrived and was looked after by a wonderful female nurse who was so professional and caring, she was so good with our boy. When we picked or boy up and got him home he was a bit dopey but not what we expected (thought ge would be worse). Mr Robert Murray did his surgery and has done an absolute brilliant job, he has had hardly any bruising and just a bit of swelling. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for looking after our boy so well. Would highly recommend this practice to anyone.
