Kate Moseley

Partner and Veterinary Surgeon

I qualified in 2010 in Pretoria, South Africa, where I obtained my Bachelor of Veterinary Science. I registered with the RCVS in April 2015. I worked in South Africa and then came to the UK in 2015 where I worked as a locum vet in various practices. I have now chosen to make Poole my home. My special areas of interest are small animal medicine, surgery and exotics. At home, I have two Yorkies called Abby and Karigan. My hobbies include hiking, camping, travelling and reading.

Emily Galton

Veterinary Nurse

Emily achieved her long-held ambition of qualifying as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in July 2025, after beginning her journey as a volunteer at her local practice at just 15 years old. Passionate about patient care, she brings a proactive, capable energy to the team and is already showing strong leadership potential in her role. She has a particular interest in companion animal behaviour and enjoys supporting patients who need a little extra time, understanding, and trust. Her calm, confident approach makes her especially skilled at working with pets who may be anxious or reactive. Born and raised in Poole, Emily feels fortunate to live in an area with both coast and forest on her doorstep. In her free time, she enjoys walking, swimming, camping, and making the most of the outdoors with family and friends. She has a special place in her heart for rescue dogs and shared a deep bond with her much-loved German Shepherd, Tahlia, who sadly passed away in 2024.

Client Care Assistant

Steph joined the Medivet Oakdale team in March 2025 and brings with her a strong background in animal care, holding a degree in Animal Behaviour and Welfare. Before joining Medivet, she worked with rescue dogs—an experience that continues to shape her warm, empathetic approach to client care. Known for her quick learning and proactive attitude, Steph enjoys supporting clients across all aspects of their visit and is always keen to expand her knowledge within the practice. At home, she has a rescue dog named Cassie, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier mix adopted in 2015—so it’s no surprise she has a big soft spot for Staffys! Outside of work, Steph enjoys bouldering, paddle-boarding, and hiking in the great outdoors.

Although our appointment was late, we were squeezed in so it wasn’t a problem. The vet was really lovely as was all the staff.

The team at Oakdake are so compassionate and knowledgeable. We have recently - sadly had to have our lovely boy put to sleep, and Kate was so sensitive in how she conducted it. The little extra touches meant so much. A huge thank you to all the team for your wonderful care throughout the last few years.

I have used Medivet for a long time however it has changed over the years. It’s become very impersonal, clinical, stark, and business orientated. The receptionist is lovely, she’s been there from the start. The vets were always female but now on my last two visits I had a male vet and they do not have the same attitude. We went for my cat’s annual vaccinations and check up. He’s a little overweight but otherwise healthy. The vet took a glance at his teeth, said they would need a clean with possible extraction, estimate £650! No proof extraction is needed. No other suggestions of cleaning teeth etc, Tried to sell me expensive cat food and his attitude was not appropriate for the owners of a beloved cat. My cat was quite distressed at the finish so we will not be returning. Medivet has gone so corporate it’s lost it’s human touch, it’s caring side that animal owners need. Very disappointed, felt exploited and was glad to leave.

(Last question unanswered because my dog's check-up and flea and worm medication is part of his contract - and there wasn't a n/a box.)
Always very impressed by the way the Medivet team greet the pets (and their owners) and the way that the pets are at home on the premises. My dog is always happy to be arriving there. Thought has also been given to new or more nervous animal customers in the form of cat 'screens' or rooms.
The Medivet team always try to come up with the right appointment time or other answers to our telephone queries. Definitely a surgery I would recommend.
