I used to work as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in the early ‘80s and went on to work as an Animal Care Lecturer until 2003. I then joined the Prescot team in 2009 as a Client Care Assistant. Sadly, I don’t have any pets right now, but I do love meeting all our clients’ lovely animals every day.

I visited on 1 November and Laura was brilliant. She listened and went out of her way to help. The receptionist was also very friendly and helpful. The team managed to squeeze me in at very short notice too. I’m super grateful to the team.

So disappointed with the staffing of what used to be a fantastic vets. Arrived Saturday 3pm to pick up treatments and the vet is closed - the website says open, as do the times on the door of the vets. Monthly charges for pet care plan have gone up while the service quality plummets. I know it’s not the staff’s fault, but the management of this chain of vets is now in crisis. Phone queue is ridiculous and waits for appointments the same due to understaffing. Do better!

I joined this practice last year after moving from the Garston practice and I have had 0 issues, the girls at the front desk are always friendly, polite and professional. My dog has seen 2 locum vets in the past 5 months and they have both been brilliant. My dog is a recuse and is nervous and they are brilliant with her.

This branch needs to be investigated by medivets. Since the departure of two vets and all reception staff, customers have been getting letters of demands for alleged outstanding balances. It is completely absurd that two excellent vets and branch partners would allow so many customers to have outstanding balances. also since this has gone intot the public domain there has been numerous posts sent to socail platforms with numerous negative reviews. Complaints have now gone to RCVS VCMS As this branch needs to be seriously investigated. Secondly there is no lead vet or branch manager and it is being covered by a locum.

Horrendous service from this vets. I have now phone 5 times for a prescription for my dog who is in pain. I need the prescription to forward to online company before they'll give me the medicationI have paid for the prescription, but keep getting palmed off with excuses. Money mad company. Please go elsewhere.

After 6 years of being at Medivet with our cat and dog, I have cancelled both of our Medivet plans and moved to a new vets - the service is that bad, I am paying to come out of the plans. Multiple cancellations because they do not have a vet available, one Receptionist in particular has the rudest attitude when you call - I won’t be naming her in this review, but I have named her in my review to the email lots of people are being signposted to after reviewing on here. Our main reason for wishing to get an appointment was due to our cat and dog needing to be reviewed for their flea and worm (which we pay for on the plan) which was then delayed by three weeks due to the cancellations and being told “don’t panic that it’s overdue” to someone who has anxiety disorder, doesn’t sit well - I have now had to pay out of my own pocket for additional flea and worm because this vet can’t seem to give me it. Appointment booked with vet, cancelled, rebooked with nurse, cancelled - cancelled because the receptionist booked in with nurse and not the vet and the nurse can’t sign off for it, although, staff member was fully aware after telling me not to panic on multiple occasions that I needed the flea and worm. Can I add - not one apology for the mistakes made and wasted time. When I called to cancel the plans, one of the other girls answered the phone and asked of our reasons, when I told her, she couldn’t have been more apologetic which I appreciated from her, but it was too late at this point. Also, please read carefully the plan T&C’s because if you access more from it than what you pay in, you owe money if you try to cancel. Do not respond and ask me to submit a review to review@medivet because I’ve already done it.

Took my dog in today he was treated by Oscar, who was fantastic he took time to explain different options and was very reassuring, ultimately he removed a growth from my dogs eyelid which I had been told from another vet practice required surgery , so not only has he spared my dog the anaesthetic but also saved me £500 . Reception staff were also very pleasant and helpful.
