Emma Milliner

Partner and Veterinary Surgeon

My name is Emma, I graduated from my first degree in Animal Biology in 1994. I studied Veterinary Medicine and Surgery at The Royal (Dick) Veterinary School , Edinburgh and qualified as a Vet in 1999. My first job was in the Forest of Dean, where I met my husband, Shane. We moved to Exmouth where I worked in a small animal hospital for 15 years gaining skills in general practice, medicine and soft tissue surgery. I have been an Official Veterinary surgeon, working on behalf of the British Government issuing passports and export certificates since 2000. I qualified as a Clinical Coach in 2002 and have been instrumental in the training of Veterinary Nurses since then. I have recently completed the training to become an RCVS Veterinary Graduate Development Programme Adviser supporting new Vets as they embark on their careers. I have a special interest in surgery but love all aspects of my work. Outside of work, I enjoy painting, reading and spending time with my children and two crazy Border Collies Penny & Dug.

When not at work I enjoy spending time at home with my partner who is also a vet, our naughty but very loving Labrador Sidney and our cat Saffron who has lots of attitude! Crowds Flock to Medivet Weymouth Garden Party for Grand Opening

Medivet Weymouth threw open its doors on 23 June 2019 to give visitors a much anticipated behind-the-scenes glimpse of its newly refurbished practice.

Sunday’s Garden Party was formally opened by guest of honour and nonagenarian former owner David Ball. As well as drinks, games and fun activities - inside and out - visitors were lucky enough to take away a voucher for a free pet consultation at the practice.

The branch is one of the first in the country to roll out a brand new look for Medivet group, which better reflects the exceptional quality of care offered to pets and their owners.

The care provided to my two cats is exceptional. Nothing is too much trouble for any member of the Team. I love how my cats are treated from the moment you walk in the door. Also, as the pet owner …. how you feel is taken into consideration. I highly recommend this Team.

The team are always welcoming, friendly and professional. They treated our pug for BOAS surgery and from the first meeting they guided us through each step carefully and reassured us that everything would be fine, which it was. The service was amazing. The care they gave was second to none. I would highly recommend them. We switched vets after the surgery as the service was so good. We have had a second surgery now and that has gone perfectly fine as well. I trust the team with both of our dogs as I know the team care about their work and they are the best vets in the local area.

**Medivet WEYMOUTH** ( honestly you couldn't write it) I am extremely appalled & disgusted with how I have been treated by this medical paratice. An issue has arrived due the pure negligence of such a sensitive situation. My darling boy was put to sleep on the 3rd of March. I asked for a bit of his fur to which the Vet / nurse said I would pick up when collecting his Ashes. On collection of his ashes, they asked if I received a sympathy card from them with his fur in (why on earth would you send it in the post anyway is BEYOND me. BUT I was even told it would be with his ashes). Wasn't even recorded delivery either!!! Second class apparently 🫠🫠🫠🫠 just chucked in the post box, so unable to track it. The fur was sent to the wrong address. I have been in contact with Medivet Weymouth this morning clearly distressed crying to the receptionist wouldnt give me her name & hung up on me. Showed no empathy & completely disregarded me. Was not offered help or assistance in anyway shape or form. If I can raise awareness for anyone else who may have to go through this which Is already so emotional draining and then to go through this!! Stay away from Medivet.
