Emma Milliner

Partner and Veterinary Surgeon

My name is Emma, I graduated from my first degree in Animal Biology in 1994. I studied Veterinary Medicine and Surgery at The Royal (Dick) Veterinary School , Edinburgh and qualified as a Vet in 1999. My first job was in the Forest of Dean, where I met my husband, Shane. We moved to Exmouth where I worked in a small animal hospital for 15 years gaining skills in general practice, medicine and soft tissue surgery. I have been an Official Veterinary surgeon, working on behalf of the British Government issuing passports and export certificates since 2000. I qualified as a Clinical Coach in 2002 and have been instrumental in the training of Veterinary Nurses since then. I have recently completed the training to become an RCVS Veterinary Graduate Development Programme Adviser supporting new Vets as they embark on their careers. I have a special interest in surgery but love all aspects of my work. Outside of work, I enjoy painting, reading and spending time with my children and two crazy Border Collies Penny & Dug.

My name is Nicole, I qualified from the Royal Veterinary College, London in June 2020. Shortly after, I moved to Dorset and joined the wonderful Medivet Team. I really enjoy consulting and getting to see a variety of different animals every day! I also particularly enjoy surgery and would love to develop my skills further. When not at work I enjoy spending time at home with my partner who is also a vet, our naughty but very loving Labrador Sidney and our cat Saffron who has lots of attitude! I also love to travel and try to explore wherever and whenever I can.

I am now the Head Veterinary Nurse at Medivet Weymouth and am very passionate about all aspects of the job, particularly nurse consultations! I have trained as a clinical coach so that I can teach others and share my passion for nursing. I’ve worked here for 5 years now and after qualifying in 2024, developed a keen interest in diagnostic imaging. I have undertaken an emergency ultrasound CPD course recently and enjoy putting this learning into practice. Outside of work, I enjoy staying active with football and netball, beach walks with my Labrador and spending time with my family.

I’m a second-year student veterinary nurse, currently working towards qualifying in 2026. My journey in the veterinary world began in 2021 when I joined Medivet as a Patient Care Assistant – and I’ve been hooked ever since! I discovered a real love for intensive care nursing and the fascinating world of veterinary medicines, and now I’m on a mission to turn that passion into a career. At home, I’ve got a full house with three cats, one dog, a fantastic husband, and our amazing kids. When I’m not studying or working, you’ll usually find me curled up with a good book, watching a film, or enjoying the outdoors with my family (preferably with snacks involved). I’m loving every step of this journey – especially the messy, meaningful, and magical moments that come with caring for animals every day.

Patient Care Assistant

I’m Sarah! I joined the team in September 2023 as a Vet Care Assistant, and I’ve got a BSc Honours Degree in Animal Behaviour and Welfare (a fancy way of saying I really love animals). I share my life with Margot, my cheeky little Jack Russell Terrier who’s always up to something – which might explain my soft spot for mischievous JRTs! When I’m not at work, you’ll probably find me in the garage, covered in clay, experimenting with my new pottery wheel. The best part of my job? Hands down, it’s being able to care for animals every day. It’s what I’m passionate about, and I feel lucky to be doing what I love.

I’m originally from the beautiful city of Leiden in The Netherlands. Since 2014, I’ve made the UK my home, where I pursued my passion for nature and the environment. I hold a BSc (Hons) in Environmental Conservation from Bangor University and an MSc in Biodiversity Conservation from Bournemouth University. I have always had a deep love for all life beneath the waves, from the tiniest sea critters to the majestic giants of the deep, but most recently my heart has been stolen by my handsome spicy boy Diablo who we all helped hand-rear from just two weeks old.

Absolutely superb performance by Malcolm and reception staff in organising neurosurgery by ringing practices in Taunton, Bristol and Ringwood urgently. Priority and time taken to secure immediate appointment in Ringwood followed by surgery immediately afterwards. Friendly and kindly care at all times with our dog Poppy the priority.

Crowds Flock to Medivet Weymouth Garden Party for Grand Opening

Medivet Weymouth threw open its doors on 23 June 2019 to give visitors a much anticipated behind-the-scenes glimpse of its newly refurbished practice.

Sunday’s Garden Party was formally opened by guest of honour and nonagenarian former owner David Ball. As well as drinks, games and fun activities - inside and out - visitors were lucky enough to take away a voucher for a free pet consultation at the practice.

The branch is one of the first in the country to roll out a brand new look for Medivet group, which better reflects the exceptional quality of care offered to pets and their owners.
