I worked at a busy 24-hour veterinary hospital in the south-east of England in 2008 for 13 years, becoming Clinical Manager in 2014 and Clinical Director in 2017. I hold a postgraduate certificate in advanced veterinary practice in Small Animal Medicine, and am an RCVS recognised Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Medicine. I have a passion for internal medicine, cardiology, diagnostic ultrasound and dermatology. I have a young family including a lively toddler and an energetic rabbit called Harvey. When not at work I enjoy spending time with family, travelling, and am a keen amateur photographer.

I am very excited to begin my journey with Medivet, as it is more evident to me every day that I have finally found the job that fulfils me. I have grown up surrounded by pets, and I currently have a cat named Pysia. In my free time I enjoy playing pool and, since I've been training from a young age, singing whenever I can. I am also a little bit of a nerd, so quite often you can find me playing video games or Dungeons and Dragons with my partner and friends.

I qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) from Harper Adams University in 2025 after completing my student nursing placement here at Medivet. At home I have five dogs; Kobi, Teddy, Lili, Ivy, and Rocky, as well as my two axolotls Jellybean and Nimbus - more than enough to keep me busy when I'm not working or gaming in my spare time.

I have been employed with Medivet since January 2021 and have been lucky enough to work at both our Medivet Great Denham and Medviet Bedford Clapham clinics. My previous role of 25 years was in Local Government. I love the countryside and am lucky to live on a narrowboat and share my home with my husband and Norwich terrier Alfie. Outside of work I am kept busy with my grandchildren and renovating the boat. I love socialising, barbeques, and live festival music.

Services we offer

With our 15-minute consultations, you have enough time to ask our expert vets any - and every - question you might have regarding your pet’s health and lifestyle.

Your local Medivet practice will be able to issue an Animal Health Certificate for EU travel.

Some of our practices have been awarded cat-friendly clinic status by the International Society of Feline Medicine (ISFM).

CT (a detailed body scan), digital x-ray and ultrasound are all available on site. Having the kit in one place can make it easier to look at what's going on and plan what comes next.

Caring for all aspects of your pet’s oral health is easy with our excellent dental facilities.

An electrocardiogram (ECG) is a simple, non-invasive test used to detect certain defects in your pet’s heart.

Using a tiny, flexible camera, we’re able to view internal body parts with little surgical intervention.

We know that sometimes it just isn’t possible for you or your pet to travel into one of our practices to receive care. At times like this, our capable and compassionate veterinary teams often offer at home visits.

Quick and efficient testing at our state-of-the-art in-house laboratories is just one aspect of the exceptional care we offer.

Laparoscopic spay and other keyhole procedures use small incisions and a camera, which usually means less discomfort and a quicker return to normal walks and meals.

We use cutting-edge laser technology in our soft-tissue surgeries to ensure your pet achieves the best results.

We use cutting-edge Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanners to help us diagnose a range of problems.

Our nurses run weight, dental, post-op, puppy and senior clinics. They're often the easiest first port of call for the smaller questions in between full appointments.

Ultrasound lets us look inside the abdomen and the heart without surgery or sedation. It's often the natural next step after blood work when something isn't quite adding up.

Vet Blood Supplies is part of the Medivet community, and together we work to save the lives of dogs across the country.

We use x-ray machines to quickly diagnose issues that might affect your pet.

Great service every time we visit. Deborah is always welcoming, friendly and incredibly helpful – nothing is ever too much trouble. Yesterday's visit was unplanned and, as always, Shannon was fantastic. I really can't praise her highly enough. She is so kind, patient and knowledgeable, and our dog, Alfie, absolutely loves her. Alfie isn't always the easiest patient at the vets, but Shannon completely understands him. She is calm, reassuring and brilliant with him, which helps him feel safe and much less stressed during his visits. It makes such a difference to both Alfie and us. Although we didn't see them yesterday, I also have to mention Cristian and Baldwin. They are both incredibly thorough and always do everything they can for Alfie. The care, compassion and attention they give him is exceptional, and we always feel confident that he's in the best possible hands. The only downside is that Alfie isn't quite as keen on men as he is on Shannon... but we're working on that! 🐾😂 A huge thank you to the whole team for the excellent care they provide.

Unfortunately had quite a bad experience with this vets practice. Our cat was diagnosed with diabetes and of course when having to inject our own cat with insulin twice a day we did a lot of research and made sure what we were doing was completely safe, as too much insulin could be very very dangerous. The vet we saw regularly (I won’t name) was very quick to tell us what to do but not actually fully explain things, at one point we were told to double my cats insulin dose which if I hadn’t listened to my gut and gone against this could have killed our cat. When I explained my dismay with the situation, I was met with a very hostile and rude email from the vet in question claiming that he cannot fight against ‘Dr Google’ because I had done my own research. Might I add that the research was done via very reputable sources, at places the vets themselves train at! (Royal veterinary college) After this awful experience, we decided to change vets and we’re very very glad we did. Also on our way to one of the appointments we had, with our very distressed cat in the car, we were nearly ran off the road in what should have been a 40mph zone, but the driver was driving basically bumper to bumper with us and then tried to pull round us going at least 55mph (baring in mind this is a village in Clapham). After pulling into the vets said driver pulled in right behind us and parked in the staff parking. It turned out to be one of the vets who worked at the practice that was driving like this. Ridiculously unprofessional and I would never return, or trust them with the care of my cat unfortunately.
