I have been a Veterinary Receptionist since 2018 and joined Medivet Guildford in 2022 following the birth of my second child. I have always loved being around animals and have owned and ridden horses competitively most of my life before becoming a mum. I am happiest outdoors and exploring with my family and my slightly bonkers dog River, who is always behind reception waiting for client cuddles and believing she herself is indeed Head of Reception.

I joined the team in December 2025. before joining Medivet I worked as a receptionist at a dental practice. My favourite thing to do at work is to interact with the clients and their furry friends. When I'm not at work, you'll usually find me enjoying a glass (or two!) of Prosecco and spending time with my family. I have a new found interest in herpetology since getting my frogs Jean Luc and Jean Jac.

Everyone was nice to us but I was disappointed to be charged £40 for a 500 ml can of Indorex Defence Spray, which I later found available from several retailers for around £17–20. I understand veterinary practices may charge more than online stores, but this difference felt excessive. I would have appreciated being informed of the price beforehand or offered the option to purchase it elsewhere. The staff were polite, but I felt the pricing was not transparent.

Attended with my two cats today for their routine health check plus annual vaccinations. Felt most satisfied with the service we received. Dr Merel was very professional and had such a wonderful manner both towards my cats and me. The appointment felt unhurried and extremely thorough. The nurse on reception was very attentive and helpful. As I had a cat carrier in both hands, I really appreciated her help in opening the doors for me to exit the practice. She was intuitive regarding the assistance needed.
