From an early age, I knew I wanted to work with animals. My first step was to complete a BTEC National Diploma in Animal Management course, which I achieved at Distinction level in 2007. At 20 years old, I got a work experience placement at the Hinckley practice. I undertook a course to become an Animal Nursing Assistant, completing this at Distinction level in 2010. Following this I was enrolled as a student Veterinary nurse and qualified proudly in June 2013. My particular areas of interest include anaesthesia, laboratory work and nursing in-patients. I currently have two guinea pigs and two English Pointer dogs, all with big personalities. In my spare time I enjoy taking my dogs for long walks, outings with my family and friends, and evenings in with a good boxset.

I have worked at Medivet Hinckley Leicester Road since 2012 when it was Fairfield Veterinary Centre. I have always enjoyed nurse clinics and talking to our clients. I also enjoy inpatient care and lab work. I have lots of animals at home along with a two year old - they always keep me busy!

Head Surgical Veterinary Nurse

I have always had an interest in veterinary work originating from a farming background and took a student nurse position in a mixed practice in Leicestershire in 2003. I qualified in 2007 as a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) and decided to take locum roles in referral centres and small animal general practices all over the country. I worked at the animal charity PDSA for ten years during which time I completed my diploma in Advanced Veterinary Nursing (DipAVN) and graduated from Myerscough School of Veterinary Nursing in 2015. After this I worked as a volunteer abroad for 2 animal charities in Greece. In 2019, I took a head nurse role within Medivet for 3 years. I currently work within the nursing team at Medivet Hinckley Leicester Rd as head of the surgical department which is where my passion lies. Outside of work, I enjoy keeping tropical fish, walking, swimming and baking cakes.

Client Care Assistant

I've been a member of the team here at Medivet Leicester Road since 2022. I've always had an interest in animals, working at pet shops and doggy day care before moving to the practice. Since I can remember we've always had animals in the house, I currently have two cats, a dog, and a leopard gecko. When I'm not working I enjoy listening to music, reading, and going out with dog.

Practice Manager

I have always been interested in the veterinary profession with carrying out work experience at Roston Drive back in 2004!! I then moved to the then Fairfield vets (Leicester Road) where I stayed for 10 years!! I qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse back in 2012 after completing my BSc (HONS) degree. After a few years, I gained my certificate in Emergency and Critical Care and worked nights in an emergency hospital which I thoroughly enjoyed!! These days you will find me at either Medivet Hinckley Roston Drive, Leicester Road or Coventry Road as practice manager.

My appointment could have been done on the phone with the lack of attention she gave to my dog. Normally the in these appointments they will try with him listen to his heart, check him over etc but she didn’t even go near him. I did bring up an issue with his ears which I was told that this would have to be brought to a vet, that’s absolutely fine but then was proceeded to be told this is an appt for if he has lumps or bumps, honestly if he had those do you think I’d wait 6 months to bring it up? I know my dog has got previous issues with being aggressive in the vets but also did not appreciate being told “I would rather not be bitten on a Friday afternoon” - something that has happened once as I’m aware in the vets and some aggression when he was having his castration, myself and previous vets have tried to work on that in his appointments since and have been very welcomed to try new things to help him. In this case I feel that we were spoken to as if we were wanted out of the door. Total waste of time which is such a shame as we’ve had a really good last few appointments that have made him more confidence in the vets and something I do have to say I am very appriciate of.
