Meet our Partner, Andrew McVey

My name is Andrew McVey and I have been at the clinic since I graduated in 2012, coming to work for my Dad, Bryan. I took over as Partner in 2014 and have loved my 10+ years leading the clinic! I love all aspects of general practice; in particular building lasting relationships with our clients, many of whom I now consider to be friends. I am also passionate about training and mentoring the next generation of vets; many of whom you will have met at the clinic! Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my two children, as well as watching Liverpool FC and an occasional round of golf. I am incredibly proud of our team and look forward to welcoming you to the clinic!

I joined the team at Orrell Park after graduating from the University of Liverpool in 2020. I have a keen interest in surgery, dermatology and pain management but overall, I love seeing all of our lovely clients and their furry (or feathered) friends! When I'm not working, I enjoy baking, crochet, drinking cocktails and walking my dog Bella. I also recently adopted a cat called Gertie. I am Branch Partner at our Anfield clinic but still spend half my week at Orrell Park.

I am originally from Turkey and graduated from the University of Ankara in 2022. During my degree, I spent a year in Budapest as an exchange student. After graduating, I moved to Norwich to work in the veterinary export industry before joining Medivet Mossley Hill in April 2024 on Medivet’s new graduate programme, where I now work as one of their assistant vets. I am interested in developing my knowledge in endocrinology and also enjoy surgery. Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, crocheting, watching movies, and trying to learn roller skating.

I am a registered veterinary nurse who has been in veterinary practice since 1999, qualifying as a nurse in 2003. I have had animals all my life including rabbits, cats and dogs. I have a particular interest in cats and enjoy having them as pets. I decided to start breeding pedigree Siberian cats in 2008 and currently live with 10 Siberians. Due to my specific interest in felines I decided to study for the ISFM Diploma in feline nursing in October 2013. I passed with a merit in February 2016. I helped achieve the practice’s cat friendly status and helped acquire our silver award. I am one of the cat advocates at the practice. I have specific interests in senior nursing, nurse clinics, reproduction, nutrition, weight management clinics and neonatology.

I have worked for Medivet for over 2 years as a PCA but I am very excited to start my training and to become a veterinary nurse. I have 3 guinea pigs called Timon, Albert & Norman who never fail to make me laugh and put a smile on my face. Small furries have always been a big part of my life and are an area of interest for me. In my spare time I like to dance, sometimes even with fire!

I’ve been a part of the Medivet team since August 2021. My goal is to eventually become a qualified Veterinary Nurse, so being able to help the vets and nurses with taking care of the animals really helps me in my journey to my chosen career. I’ve always loved animals and to be able to make a difference means a lot to me. My special interest is cats. I have a Ragamuffin cat called Emmeline who I adopted from the cat café and she's my world!

I feel destined to provide care and advocate for our beloved individuals who cannot express themselves. I find fulfillment in collaborating with individuals from diverse backgrounds and gaining insights from them. The guiding principle I adhere to in life is, "IT DOES NOT HURT TO BE KIND."

I've been at the practice since the end of 2009 after graduating from Liverpool John Moores University. I started off as a kennel assistant for two and a half years, got my animal nursing certificate then went onto the reception. I have a gorgeous Maltese dog called Coco and a goldfish called Jaws, that lives in our pond. I enjoy spending time with my children and husband, my family, friends and little dog outside of work.

Charlotte is an incredible vet. You can tell she genuinely loves the animals she cares for. She is always friendly, smiley, chatty and welcoming. Explaining everything thoroughly, giving us plenty of information to ultimately make the best decisions for helping to take care of our elderly cat. We always insist on booking any appointments with Charlotte. She is an asset to Medivet

My bill included an amount from January. I am really shocked and disappointed that this was not brought to my attention after the original treatment in January. I understand mistakes can be made but that length of time is totally unacceptable.
