Lead Veterinary Surgeon

I’ve been the lead vet here since August 2017. I graduated from Lisbon Technical University's Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in 2004, then completed an internship at Hannover University's School of Veterinary Medicine before starting to work in practice in the UK. Over the years I’ve developed an interest in soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery, and in December 2016, obtained the BSAVA's Post Graduate Certificate in Small Animal Surgery. I’m passionate about research into veterinary medicine and surgery and strive to offer the best advice and care available to my patients. Outside of work, I live in Lincolnshire with my wife, who is also a veterinary surgeon, and my two daughters.

I am passionate about providing high-quality care and making every visit as positive and stress-free as possible for both pets and their owners. I particularly enjoy nurse consultations and supporting senior patients, helping owners understand how best to care for their pets as they age. I am also passionate about supporting nervous and anxious pets in the clinic, using a calm and compassionate approach to help change their perception of veterinary visits and make them feel safer and more comfortable. I was honoured to be awarded Hill’s Senior Pet Nurse of the Year 2025, recognising my passion and commitment to senior pet care. I love building trusting relationships with patients and their families and helping make a real difference to their experience in the clinic.

Services we offer

With our 15-minute consultations, you have enough time to ask our expert vets any - and every - question you might have regarding your pet’s health and lifestyle.

Your local Medivet practice will be able to issue an Animal Health Certificate for EU travel.

Some of our practices have been awarded cat-friendly clinic status by the International Society of Feline Medicine (ISFM).

Caring for all aspects of your pet’s oral health is easy with our excellent dental facilities.

An electrocardiogram (ECG) is a simple, non-invasive test used to detect certain defects in your pet’s heart.

We know that sometimes it just isn’t possible for you or your pet to travel into one of our practices to receive care. At times like this, our capable and compassionate veterinary teams often offer at home visits.

Quick and efficient testing at our state-of-the-art in-house laboratories is just one aspect of the exceptional care we offer.

Pet laser treatment can be used to help promote healing and reduce inflammation and pain, from chronic arthritis to post surgical wound treatment. The treatment is pain free and non-invasive.

Our nurses run weight, dental, post-op, puppy and senior clinics. They're often the easiest first port of call for the smaller questions in between full appointments.

Our experienced orthopaedic team look after pets when bones, joints or ligaments need a closer look.

Neutering is a medical procedure that prevents pets from being able to reproduce, and comes with a host of other health benefits.

Ultrasound lets us look inside the abdomen and the heart without surgery or sedation. It's often the natural next step after blood work when something isn't quite adding up.

We use x-ray machines to quickly diagnose issues that might affect your pet.

Mostly a decent vets, until they are running 30mins behind and do not tell you beforehand. You take a taxi to the vets, and then the rude lady at the counter shows no empathy or care and just says "youre welcome to rebook". Unfortunately I feel this vets has lost its keen sense of care now. A real shame

Rated 1 out of 5 stars As a charity medivet is one the worst… As a charity medivet is one the worst corporates we have had to deal with along with poor standards of care to patients, we as a charity tell all our adopters to never use medivet, We have had a dog come into our charity’s due to the sudden death of the owner, we were able to get hold of the vaccination records thanks to the kindness of a lovely neighbour as they were close to the owner and the dog, we then l then contacted the vets to obtain the veterinary notes for the dog so to help us as a charity to see what treatment the dog had had if neutured extra, and it has been refused, god help any poor animal that has a serious illness and we as a charity’s would have to spend a lot of money finding out what the issue is when the whole time this awful company already hold that information, Medivet you should be totally ashamed of yourself, l will be taking this matter further, Animal charity’s are under so much pressure to help so many animals yet you think it’s acceptable to make there jobs even harder, but to be honest l don’t expect much from a money grabbing corporate
