Meet our Partner, Tine Van Egdom
I qualified in 2002 in South Africa and spent the next 15 years working with the country’s small and large animals. I then moved to the UK in 2015 and have worked at Medivet ever since, taking over the Portland clinic in 2018. I love sport and enjoy spending time as a busy wife and mum to three children. I have a German Shepherd called Zulka, a Border Terrier called Sam, and two cats called Ruby and Jessie.

Was concerned about our dogs paw , dropped by to see if it could be looked at . Within 30 mins he was seen , bandaged and appointment to be seen next day. Pesky grass seed removed swiftly and antibiotic's given next appointment . Everyone friendly and professional…. Happy dog Happy dog parents 😊

Tina and the team at Medivet Portland are professional, empathetic and great communicators. Their knowledge, experience and attention to detail clearly shows. I’ve used this branch for all of my pets, past and present - from tortoises and guinea pigs to cats and dogs. They have looked after them all, from the moment I’ve got them to the moment I’ve had to say goodbye. On the rare occasion where they haven’t had the expertise eg if it’s a specialist issue, they have always arranged referrals to relevant specialists. They’ve also been great at dealing with the different personalities my animals have had. For example, I currently have a French Bulldog who’s very nervous and can be challenging at times, however, Tina has always shown patience and understanding with her. I would have no doubt in recommending them.

Our first visit to Medivet Portland, having been with a brllliant Vet practice in Dorchester for 20 years, We were forced to move as our boy doesn't travel well and we now live on Portland...he is vehicle reactive! Although the receptionist could have been a little friendlier, she was polite. The vet was lovely, she greeted our boy with a treat and he fell in love! She did a dental check and gave us a comprehensive opinion on when he may need treatment. We were impressed especially as we found out this was a complimentary check. My concerns at the change of vet have now diminished.
