Medivet Southfields

The vets Rui and Spiro give our cats excellent care. All staff are friendly. Appointments are easy to book and we go in on time. The surgery our cats had for neutering was done with a high level of skill and the after care was excellent.

We have been with MediVet Southfields since March 2012 and to say they are exceptional is an understatement. The care and time they have taken to look after our two Polish Lowland Sheepdogs is wonderful. Sadly we had to say goodbye to our youngest two days before her 10th birthday in June 2024. Rui and Andrea are beyond special with their compassion and thoughtfulness and we cannot thank them enough for everything they have done, both for Zosia who adored them and for us at a really sad time. The care and kindness they have given to us and still do as we navigate things in a much quieter house with just our older and now blind dog who also loves Rui and Andrea and pulls us into the vets when we walk past (somehow she always knows exactly where we are so she can have a fuss from the team) is amazing. The fact that there is a whole network of practices and vet hospitals within the group has been really helpful over the years with our dogs when we have needed a vet when not in our local area. The specialist expertise too within the company (orthopaedics, cancer etc) is second to none. Our dogs have regularly travelled extensively throughout Europe all their lives and no vets (which we have to see for the passport to be stamped - luckily we have a EU pet passports so are not stuck with having to use the extremely expensive, administratively bureaucratic, short time-limited thing the UK now has after Brexit) have gone anywhere near the mark that Rui and his team at MediVet Southfields have.

Our Polish Lowland Sheepdogs have been cared for by Medivet Southfields for fifteen years. The vets (Rui and Sam), together with Andrea and Sophia are a brilliant team. Nothing is too much trouble and, with a very elderly dog now plus a 16 month old puppy at the other end of the age stage who has recently had a laprascopic spay, the!staff team adapt brilliantly so each ‘personality’. The MediVet Southfields staff genuinely love animals and ours get a huge fuss every time they go in (we take the puppy in each month to make sure we record the first two years of her weight as we have done with all our dogs). Andrea is amazingly efficient in his accurate processing of insurance claims for our old girl (something we don’t take for granted) and Rui works exceptionally hard even ringing us late evening with lab results which our old girl needs done to ensure we balance her meds. Sophia as front of house is a gem of an appointment - calm, accommodating, knowledgable and very welcoming. We feel very fortunate indeed to have such an amazing MediVet on our doorstep and the recent total refurbishment and extension of the practice is fabulous.

Hamish our labrador was a very reluctant patient - it took two vets to push him into the consulting room! The staff were both efficient and friendly; the one problem was having to wait 45 minutes after the time of our appointment to be seen.
