I visited the Vets as I was concerned about the change in a growth on my dog Bollies snout which had been noticed by the vet on a previous visit who recommended I keep an eye on it .I was told at the time if it had to be removed it would cost approx £200. So you can imagine my shock when I received MEDIVETS estimate for removing the current ''lump'' as over £1800.The Anaesthesia/sedation process alone totals nearly £900. Contrast that with the cost of surgery to pin the leg of our Jack Russel ''Johnny'' in 1980 at £75 which included 4nights B&B at Ashfield Vets in Long Eaton..Ok that was 1980 ,but £75 back then equates to under £400 in 2026.So why the increase of nearly 5X..As a OAP now nearer 90 than 80 and living on half a previous income there is no way I can afford this procedure for my Dog. Typical in ''Broken Britain'' I don't even qualify for help from the likes of the PDSA...Regards Brian Davis.

One never knows what vet your going to see that really knows your pet ! 1 know my girl and what's best for her we love her very much and she's been through so much in the past I will observe her needs ! Reception Mel does remember my girl Meemaw maybe because she's seen her but a while ago though she's always got a smile makes you feel welcome you need more Mel's 😉

Our dog Mabel has to go to the vets every 5 weeks due to required, lifelong, medication. The new vet has quickly got to know Mabel and has clearly become very knowledgeable of her issues. Some of the new reception staff aren't familiar with our dog but are still very friendly. The vetinary nurses are also very familiar with Mabel, including one that helped save her life...they treat Mabel like a queen....just as she deserves.....thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you have done and continue to do.....Stapleford Medivet...you are the best!!!!
