Meet our Partner, Justine Berger

I qualified in South Africa in 1995 before moving to the area and working as a dedicated small animal vet in northwest London for 29 years. I have a general practitioner certificate in Feline Practice, and I have a special interest in rehabilitative medicine, including acupuncture. Being a community vet means that many of my clients have been with me for nearly three decades and I've looked after all their pets and gotten to know all the family and I love that aspect of my job . I enjoy all aspects of soft tissue surgery, medical cases and dentistry including endodontics. I'm mum to two teenage girls , a rescue crossbreed called Todd, three rescue cats called Madiba , Sheeba and Touché.

I graduated from the Royal Veterinary College (RVC) in 2023, after relocating to London to pursue my veterinary studies. During my time at RVC, I developed an interest in dermatology and cardiology, two fields I am eager to explore further. I am passionate about building strong relationships with clients to help their pets live long, healthy lives. When not in clinic I enjoy cooking, music, and travelling. I am thrilled to join the Temple Fortune community as I embark on my career as a veterinarian.

Head Veterinary Nurse

I moved from South Africa in 2005 to follow my passion for animals. I enrolled in college in 2007 and completed my diploma as a Registered, Qualified Veterinary Nurse a few years later while working as a nurse in Medivet HGS. I had already become the Head Nurse and continued to learn and teach through my work. I love dogs, cats and especially small furries. I have a keen and knowledgeable interest in dog behaviour, which started at the age of 16, when I taught my Dalmatians to fetch their food bowls. I've had many pets of my own: 3 Dalmatians, 2 rats, 2 guinea pigs, many rabbits, 5 guinea fowl, and 3 chickens. I have one pet now, Pepper, a peking bantum chicken, who I rescued at 4 days old. She is now 8 years old. I have 2 children, and after a few years break with them, I've returned to Medivet TF and loving it!

Unconvinced Neuroscience was the path for me after receiving my degree in 2024. I felt I owed it to my younger self, who always wanted to work with animals, to explore how I would fare in a veterinary setting. In 2025, I began working at Medivet, and a year on, I truly believe I’ve found where I belong. I’ve chosen to channel my academic background into supporting the animals I adored as a child, and have developed a particular passion for feline medicine along the way. I am thrilled to share that I will be embarking on the journey to become a Registered Veterinary Nurse! In my spare time I enjoy art, fashion, music and spending time with loved ones especially my little furry companion.

I decided to move to the UK in 2018 from Slovakia to study. After graduating from the University of Derby in 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology, I relocated to London to begin my career as a PCA with the goal of becoming a RVN. My primary area of interest is exotic animals and studying of their behaviour. In my spare time I enjoy cooking, going on hikes, climbing, and going to the gym.

I embarked on my academic journey with a deep passion for animal welfare and biology, enrolling in a college program focused on these fields. During my studies, I gained invaluable hands-on experience through a work placement at a veterinary practice. This experience ignited my enthusiasm for veterinary care, leading me to apply to university to further pursue this passion. While attending university, I began working at Medivet Temple Fortune, where I am currently a student nurse. This role has allowed me to apply my academic knowledge in a practical setting, enriching my skills and confirming my dedication to veterinary nursing. I particularly enjoy interacting with clients, educating them about their pets' health and well-being, and providing compassionate care. Now, as I near the completion of my veterinary nursing course, I am excited to continue my career at Medivet Temple Fortune, where I can contribute to the health and well-being of animals and build strong relationships with their owners.

Services we offer

With our 15-minute consultations, you have enough time to ask our expert vets any - and every - question you might have regarding your pet’s health and lifestyle.

Some of our practices use acupuncture to give pets a gentle yet effective pain relief for a number of conditions.

Your local Medivet practice will be able to issue an Animal Health Certificate for EU travel.

Some of our practices have been awarded cat-friendly clinic status by the International Society of Feline Medicine (ISFM).

Caring for all aspects of your pet’s oral health is easy with our excellent dental facilities.

An electrocardiogram (ECG) is a simple, non-invasive test used to detect certain defects in your pet’s heart.

Using a tiny, flexible camera, we’re able to view internal body parts with little surgical intervention.

We know that sometimes it just isn’t possible for you or your pet to travel into one of our practices to receive care. At times like this, our capable and compassionate veterinary teams often offer at home visits.

Quick and efficient testing at our state-of-the-art in-house laboratories is just one aspect of the exceptional care we offer.

At Medivet, we’re proud to offer keyhole surgery and keyhole spay as an option at many of our clinics. A keyhole spay, also known as a laparoscopic spay, lap-spay or laparoscopic ovariectomy, involves the use of keyhole surgery, to neuter your dog.

Receive expert advice from our experienced nurses on keeping your pet healthy and happy.

A pet ultrasound is a non-invasive imaging technique used to view your pet's internal organs and identify potential issues.

Vet Blood Supplies is part of the Medivet community, and together we work to save the lives of dogs across the country.

We use x-ray machines to quickly diagnose issues that might affect your pet.

I feel like the medication costs are overpriced and should be lowered. Also, I have found that I need to chase the admin team to fill in my insurance claims (once chased they're really quick, but always need to ask).

The personnel in this practise, and I mean all of the people I had contacted (vets, nurses, etc.) were extremely friendly and I really wish that I only learnt about this place when I was looking for a health certificate to take my tortoise abroad.
