I waited over an hour to be seen for my dogs' routine appointment. Although the appointment wasn't with their usual vet, it was thorough, and I left with no concerns. A few hours later, however, I received a phone call from the practice about a large outstanding bill from four months ago. I had no idea there was an unpaid balance, as I hadn't received any invoices or reminders, and nothing had been submitted to my insurance. It was not mentioned to me while I was at the practice for my routine appointment either. The outstanding bill related to my previous visit, when I was advised to take my dog to Medivet in Dartford urgently because I was told that she could die if she wasn't seen that night. At the referral hospital, I was informed that the situation wasn't as serious as first thought and that further invasive procedures weren't necessary. I ended up with a very large bill, and in the end my dog recovered with antibiotics. Medivet Dartford processed everything through my insurance on the day, were extremely attentive to my dog and allowed me to pick her up early so that I wouldn’t pay unnecessary overnight hospitalisation fees. Medivet Chafford however didn’t send off their half of the claim to my insurance, hence the outstanding bill with them four months later. It was a bit disappointing that they also weren’t even sure which of my dogs the bill was relating to, when my second dog has never needed substantial care with them. They did however work with me to resolve this with my insurance when I voiced my disappointment. For routine care, the practice has always treated my dogs kindly and has been helpful when I've had questions since the day I adopted them. They have helped with multiple issues that come with adopting rescues without much history. However, I've found that consultations have often focused on worst-case scenarios, and I've frequently been advised by their regular vet to proceed with X-rays or other investigations that, in my experience, have turned out not to be necessary. Overall, while I'm comfortable using this practice for routine appointments, based on my experiences I would likely choose a different vet if one of my dogs had an emergency. I was very pleased with the care I received at Medivet Dartford, but the administrative mistakes and tendencies to either be dismissed or rushed into emergency procedures have affected my confidence in the practice at Chafford Hundred. That being said, the staff at the practice make you feel comfortable, are quick to answer the phone, resolved my dogs’ teething issues and offered valuable advice. Booking an appointment with them has also always been very easy.

We are coming to the clinic for almost 6 years never had such a disappointing experience. That was a waste of time rather than a health check.

I can not fault the service we have received, our cat has ongoing issues and the care, love and attention they have provided him is invaluable to us, we appreciate this practice.

A routine appointment which began on time & done by a very friendly vet who kept our cat Boo very comfortable & at peace the whole time - the premises were (as always spotless) - thank you
